Past lives only show the base bonus. It will show the stat as-is on the character, but the plus next to it will correspond to starting stat + level ups + tomes (so in the OPs case, 20 start + 5 level ups + 2 tome = 27= +8)

They ignore almost all modifiers.

Includes only the base stat and tomes I believe.

Shade is correct, only a +2 tome. Unfortunately I was still a seal away from the Staff of Inner Sight before I TRed.
