Default Bigg Stunna (Unarmed Kensai 12 Fighter/7 Monk/1 Rogue)

I am in the process of planning a 2x TR character, and this is what the end product will be looking like.

The previous classes of this build are Fighter and Monk.

Although the 2x TR's do alot to help this build out, it is not needed.
But if you are looking to do something like this, let me know and I'll post the details without the TR's.

What do you do with this build? Simple; High speed unarmed DPS, with reliable Stunning Blow.

    Class bracket sweet spots:

The most regular question regarding monk hybrid builds is usually, "Why not make a pure monk instead?".

    1. High Stunning Blow DC
    2. Higher base damage, but lower burst damage.
    3. UMD - Heal scrolls are just soooo yummy!
    4. Higher to hit

These four things in combination outweighs the loss of going pure in my opinion. Here are the major bonuses you loose out of from not going pure:

    1. Earth Stance 3 and 4
    2. Wind stance 3 and 4
    3. Touch of death
    4. Elemental curses (Wich is quite situational, and would not add anything to your own DPS)
    5. 10DR
    6. Abundant Step

I have been following some builds, and the discussions going on in different forum threads that use about the same split i have. (12 Fighter/7 Rogue/1 Monk being the main adversary when it comes DPS)

While other build's main focus has been DPS, I decided to maintain the same goal, but with a little spice. In other words: "Stunning Blow".

When you're able to reliably stun mobs, you add a whole lot more DPS to the table than what most other characters are able to spit out of burst effect.

When i originally created this build i incorporated Combat Expertise. Having run this toon around for a bit, I find it useless at current end game. It just get's too annoying when CE drops down on each monk finisher. (Fix this already Turbine!)

It's a very effective build, search for the Beotch Slapper for my version from a while ago.

Until they fix handwraps, your DC on stunning blow won't be great for epic.

I have an 12 fighter / 8 monk TR that I play on Ghallanda (Rockan the Boat, you can see it in build index). I can echo Dark-star's comment about stunning. One of my big disappointments over the last year is that the developers have not addressed handwraps and stunning DCs, either for stunning blow or stunning fist. As a consequence, you'll have weak DCs endgame.

Don't let that discourage you from this great build concept. It might just change how you go about it. You'll still stun effectively using weighted weapons. I changed out my stunning feats for a bunch of toughnesses, and I'm loving it! An unarmed fighter turns out to be very sturdy thanks to evasion and lots of hit points. You can go off by yourself even in epic quests and take care of monsters just using fists of light.

    Good luck with the build!

    Thanks for the comments guys.

Anthios, one thing i've been wondering about when it comes to Rockan. I've always been a big fan of UMD in this game. Because it raises your surviveability alot.

Would you say that you could see something like this incorporated in your build concept, or are you perfectly happy without it? I'm trying to get a better feel for what i want to do with my 2nd TR. At least before i go into my first.

And Dark, where the heck you think i got the idea from?

I was originally thinking to do this as a Halfling, but found out that by going Warforged i would gain higher and more even base damage overall. Any thoughts as to maybe do a switch?

PS: Dark - Just rechecking your STR from Beotch -
    S 14 +3 ftr +3 tome +5 level +6item +1 human = 32 +8 powersurge = 40 (+15) (+6 rage and double Madstone = 46 (+18) +2 Yug pot +2 ddo store pot = 50 (+20)) could add 6 more when tanking with a choker, 2 more from a collecaible pot and 6 more from a Psionic strength cookie for a very situational 64 strength (+27 mod)

    Screenshot or it didn't happen...

My original race for the Slapper was WF. Brute tank with tons of toughness feats for huge hps. Several guys in my guild wanted a fleshie version, so I made the human for them. Human has a great deal more versatility, including raid level intim if you wanted it.

I think there are five slappers amongst my friends so far, and one guy plays it as his main (and competes for top dps spots).

Anthios may feel differently, but to me 7 monk 1 rogue adds a lot more than 8 monk.

I do have halfling dragonmarks. That has made a huge difference for me. The extra sneak attack damage also goes a very long way on the autocrit situations.

Never quote me on this, but for once, I can live without UMD.

Generally, I tend to be a UMD addict, but I appreciate the extra damage. The healing amplification with healing ki is generally enough to keep me up. But, keep in mind, I'm a halfling, not a warforged.

    Default Why Quickdraw?

Why do these builds all take quickdraw? I'm testing it out on my FTR, and it doesn't seem to make much of a difference when switching weapons. I am sure there is a slight difference, but it's not like it takes all that long to switch weapons. I supposed with all these feats, you might as well take it though... Not much else left to take!

Quick Draw halves the time between activating a Boost, and being able to start a-swingin' again.

Exactly, it's all about the flavor!

I mean seriously, you could even grab something silly like Diehard if you felt like it... That's the juicy stuff with fighters, always enough feats to pick what you want.
