Default Cleric 19, 1 Fighter - fighter feat?

I'm going to be doing a GR on my cleric fighter dip RealSoon(TM) and I'm probaly going to take Power Attack for my fighter-class feat, but while I am certainly a melee-capable cleric, my melee DPS isn't that stellar, and I'm concerned tha PA may cause me to miss enough more that it won't really be that great.

Is there a critical to-hit modifier to using PA to best effect?

    Thanks,

I just use Divine Power, apart from the highest level quests & difficulties I generally dont have problems hitting things using PA with 26 STR and that active.. in the quests where it makes any real difference, there'll usually be "proper" melees around or i can just kite them through BB a few times. In those quests other party members will generally be relying on you more in a healer role than main melee, and in soloing you'll have more mana to spare for the spells if you dont have to heal/buff others

some spectral gloves would still be nice though oh well, its not hard to farm at least..
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was, now what's it is weird and scary to me.

The level cleric spells divine power (+6 strength, increases BAB), divine favour (+3 to hit and damage)and recitation (+2 to hit) will add +10 to your attack bonus and +3 to damage at level 20, making power attack a viable option for melee clerics.

Both Recitation (AC, saves, attack rolls) and Divine Favor (attack rolls and damage, self-only) spells provide luck bonuses, which don't stack.
On Thelanis: Hallelujah (EK wraith) - Jerryrigged Juggernaut (Fiend Warlock) - Sepulchral (Druid) - Chopchopchop (Monk) - Alleyshadow (retired gimped monkcher). Formerly on Keeper : Misericordia (Thug) - Mumbo Jumbo (Battle Caster) - Infernal Can (WF Kinda Cleric) - Halleluyah (Melee Spellsinger).

ah my mistake, looks like I've been wasting all those recitations

    Default More..

Thanks for the responses - I take it that no-one actually knows the critical to-hit modifier that was my core question, then?

I guess I would need to know more specifically what you define the "critical to-hit modifier" to be... what are you running "it" on again? Casual, Normal, Hard, Elite ... Epic, etc.

With the way that bab increases, I'm guessing that you would still hit 2 for 4 (or bat 500, based on the bab increase mode, i.e. PA = -5 to attack, you get that back on your subsequent swings, etc).

My TWF Cleric17/Monk2/Fighter1 Strength 30 has no problems hitting anything on hard, when you start to move to Shav on elite, I need to crank the Divines (Favor and Power) to not see "misses" scrolling up the screen. Note that this is a generality not your "critical to-hit modifier"...
