Heh, I went to Ozzfest 7 or 8 years ago and watching Ozzy hobble around on the stage actually made me a little depressed

Just send the dude to a "home" and be done with it.

Yeah, I'm sure the management at wow is talking all day about DDO. Lol, I'll take "What are delusions of granduer for $100".

They may not be talking about DDO in specific but they sure as hell better have a conversation about the blended business model that was not supposed to have worked for a paid MMO or in the US. You know the model that others are sure to copy. The one that saved DDO.

Business like games change and one thing is constant the big will fall eventually. You either change and adapt or you become obsolete. Just takes longer when you are huge.

Here is my take, the MMO community as a whole has been enhanced by WoW. WoW is MMORPG for dummies. (no disrespect meant to wow or its players) WoW brought alot of people to MMO's that might not have ever played them otherwise. It made learning the game and the genre easier than most previous mmo's. I played EQ from beta only way to find the NPC's that gave quests when that game dropped was to talk to everyone, then most of the time you got the quest you had to figure out where to go to complete it (some time 2 or more zones away). Community became huge in that game to help each other find quest items and zones. Wow made the gaming and questing more user friendly. As any other MMO eventually a portion of the population will loose interest an look for a game that "fits to their style" better, others will hang on for years. I think some of the players we want from wow might make their way here, the players we don't want from wow that show up probably wont stay

    WoW legalized gold selling?

Turbine, time to get the plat farmers busy.

Sell plat at 1kplat for $0.06
Buy plat (from the farmers) at .03 per 1kplat.

This will fix a lot of things and

    yeah...

Imagine, 1mil plat removed from the game for the low low price of $30

At least plat farmers will remove the plat because it's a sure sale instead of sitting on their haunches to be paid by the random buyer. Meanwhile, Turbine will increase their profits.

We already have the easy button. Let's change the way economics work now and at least make it less underdark and more shady government.
