    Default Weapon Finese Feat

I thought getting this feat would allow me to use my high dex scores to achieve better dps in combat. My son says that it doesn't effect damage you give other players only allows you to hit more. As in, you still need higher strength during combat. How can I make my rogue and other high dex, low strength toons give more damage?

Getting better weapons and adding to your Str score. You can always eat a Strength Tome and you can wear items that give you + Str, and you can pump your Str score up every 4 levels.

Weapon Finesse uses your Dex (if it's higher than Str) to add to your To-Hit instead of Str. It does nothing to damage. It also is only usable on Finessable weapons.

Generally, going High Dex low Str is a mistake. Just putting the cheap 6 points into Str at creation can make a big difference in DPS and is usually more valuable in the long run than taking Dex from 16 to 18 or 18 to 20. So even on Finesse characters, it's a good idea to start at 12 or 14 Str.

The second part of this is to ask yourself what you gain from Finesse. Rogues are still viable as Finesse characters, but if AC is a big reason, keep in mind that without a Monk splash it's extremely difficult for a Finesse character to achieve a useful AC past mid-game.
