How I got "Blacklisted"

Edit: I mistook a speed run for a careless group. I had never been in a group like that before and though they would finish preventing me from helping the guild complete the next day. I have apologized for not handling the situation in a better way and have learned new tips on what to do in the future. Edited this because it's over as far as I am concerned. Agreed...even when Harry is at about 10%...his HP's go down slow......simply find a safe spot which is not hard to do and recall out.

Personally I just complete whenever I do a run unless we wipe....I don't know, recalling out to me just feels like cheating.

Course if a 1-3 or 4 farm is up and it's the only thing going on I will join

Blacklisting the offender was the right thing to do.
Leaving after part 4 should not be tolerated unless LFM stated farming 1-4 in advance.

If you can't trust a group to allow you to leave before completion when you've already stated that you have a guild run the next day... maybe it's quite alright to be blacklisted by them. There have been incidents of griefing by people hitting the altar too soon, and people who start part 4 without healers or songs at all might just go ahead and hit the altar when it's done. With the lag these days even leaving at 5% might be a problem, Harry might be dead already by the time you see him at 5% lol.

Who's at fault here? Not saying this was the scenario in the OP, but I know I and the people I usually run with on Ghallanda give ample warning when we plan on hitting the altar right away. Sounds like the OP joined a zerg runand didn't know it. There's nothing wrong with going into the next part without buffs, if the people could fend for themselves and the run was going smoothly otherwise, then what's the big deal?

Not to mention if you're any self-respecting bard you have enough UMD for Teleport scrolls and could just port yourself back to Meridia when Part 5 Harry is at 5% to ensure you get out on time.

Imo you agreed to do a full run if it said so in the lfm, which would most likely included a ddoor at the end message, so recalling out was bad form....

I didn't think of that. I'll do that next time provided I can get in a group. It won't happen again.


I just don't think my actions were worth people whispering everyone on thier list about me. I know it happened because I got whispers from friends asking why people are saying to sqelch me. It's not like it was my 1st time running with these people, I have run HoX and Shroud probably 4-5 times with the leader.

And it's not like I do this all the time. First mistake = blacklist? That's bs IMO. I would love to hear from someone actually in the group. I doubt that will happen though.

If you where so worried about it you could atleast have stayed and buffed them before the boss fight with songs etc. The bard constitutes such a large portion of the DPS. The only reason you are accepted into a shroud run as a bard is so that you can use songs in part4 and 5.

It's not like I have multiple capped toons. I have 1 main and 2 alts that get limited paly. I pug a lot and would enjoy not being blacklisted.

Sorry to anyone who was angered by my leaving early from the shroud group.

1. My guild is planning completing tomorrow night.
2. Someone started part 2/3 before everyone was done looting.
3. Someone started part 4 before my bard songs.
4. People went into part 4 while the healers were still in the water getting SP back.

Now ask yourself. Would you want to stay in a group knowing the guild wants you to help out tomorrow night? I didn't trust the group to let me D Door out before clicking the alter so I left. Everything was clicked before the entire party was ready. So that is why I left. Hope you can understand.

If you feel this is an act of never playing with me again, there is nothing I can do about it. I was whispered after I left saying I was blacklisted from everyone in the party and their guild. I hope this is not the case.

You list 2-4 like they are bad things.....

Thats SOP in just about every shroud run I'm on now a days.... Were there any real Problems?

I bet it isn't so much that the Op is concerned, but that the Op is concerned their guild is now blacklisted. Actions of one player after all.

The people in that group didn't know it was a first-time offense. For all they knew, you do that to all your groups.

If you'd just gone into part 5 and helped out, thrown yourself a Ddoor or a Teleport when Harry was at 5%, the group probably wouldn't have minded (or they may not have even noticed). As a bard, you had the tools available to you to avoid this whole mess, regardless of whether the party was zerging or not.
