P.S. there really are only a couple players on the server who can make really whacked builds that work (Xyfiel for eg. .... very solid player)... and trust me, we know who you are and you get our respect.

I find it odd that, with the potential of reincarnations and epic loot that any pugger gives up any of their loots for roll for any reason. Bereavement and the battle coin look pretty ghetto now, but who knows what they are going to be epic. Just saying.
Also, Pestilence and Legion fill each others raids all the time. We have close ties. We never expect to roll on their loot and they don't expect to roll on ours. It works fine and I can't remember anytime when there was hard feelings as a result.

The beautiful thing about raid loot is that its random and if it drops for me then you don't have ANY right to it. Its not only rude its presumptuous for you to think that you do have claim to it. If the people I run raids with every day need the item, they are going to get it, not you, because its not yours, its mine. If turbine would implement a guild roll then this would be a non issue because then all the puggers would not see that we were rolling for an item, but since they see the roll they somehow assume that they get to roll too, again, laying claim to something that doesn't belong to them. Its not complicated. If I have the good fortune of winning loot offered in a pug I am grateful but it is never an expectation and I certainly don't have any objections to someone giving to a guildy, friend or whatever because it was never mine to begin with. Neat how that works.

It's interesting that everybody seems to agree that your loot is your own - but then disagree on rolling rules. Sort of up to the individual isn't it? If he's in a guild that has a loot policy, that's up to him too.
Anyways, the way I see it, its incentive to join a decent guild - or make your own. Running a guild must be tough. Need competent players/strategists/character-builders, and need to get enough of them on a tight enough schedule to be really effective. If you are in a guild that has pulled that off, you deserve to have a higher chance of grabbing raid loot.
If you are a PUG player, you have the option of organizing. There are a fair number of PUG players who are either not in a guild, or are in casual guilds. Legion and Pestilence didn't become elite guilds overnight - they earned it. Now they are reaping the rewards. You have the option to do the same.
It's certainly not easy, but there is a fresh influx of players from F2P that have an incredible range of skill level. And 90% of them will improve over time. Look at DARPA - I'm not sure how long they have been around, but Alterlife was recruiting just last year. They are an excellent raid guild.
So instead of saying that its unfair to have guild rolls, man up - get a solid guild together. To those of you who are in guilds that are works-in-progress, it sucks right now. I get that - but persevere. If the players in the guild are dedicated, its only a matter of time.

I believe, like most of the Europeans posting here, that raid loot that you don`t need should be put up for roll for all participants in the raid, most often (small shards in the Shroud are exceptions for me). But why would I exclude those that don`t agree with that policy from rolling on my items? If someone does something I feel is wrong, why do the same? That just makes things worse, in my book
I have good experiences with running with Legion (though I wouldn`t say they are the only ones able to do raids very efficiently, they certainly are great players), and I see that alot of the time things are put up for roll, since most in the guild seems to have what they need.
What I have issues with is more that people roll on behalf of others(guildies, friends etc)...the roll should be personal.
If life is meaningless, nothing you do matters. However, if life is meaningful then everything you do matter, something that places such a terrible burden on people that I think they are unwilling to bear it.
I'll admit, recently I was in a VoD... a good friend of mine saw that I pulled the goggs... he typed faster then a ninja a trade only fool would say no to and BLAMMMM he had the goggs. Now, I hadn't even mentioned putting it up for roll... I was taking my time watching what others pulled before I made my decision...
...now did anyone say anything about it?
Nope.
