Unable to Swap for ITWF

Paladin 6 / Monk 1

Trying to swap out the Paladin Past Life feat to ITWF at Lv.7. All requirement's are met but it's not appearing on the list of swappable feats.

17 Dex with +2 Tome used at Lv.7, 6 BAB, Have TWF.

Any thoughts?

This might just be an oversight on my part...

Also cannot swap SF:UMD for feats such as extend. This is probably WAI though. It peaked my curiosity anyway.

Did you, at the level you took Past Life, qualify to take ITWF? If not, you can't swap.

Yes, I took the past life feat at 5 Paladin / 1 Monk.

Seems like I'm boned then.

When did you take the monk level? Think that messes up the BAB if it was one of the 1-6 ones.

Your BAB was not high enough....remember Monk level one does not add to your BAB when determining eligibility for feats. Also, If you used your tome at level 7, your Dex would not have been high enough to take ITWF at 1,3, or 6 level, which is when you would have taken the past life feat. You need to have qualified for the feat at the time your current feat was taken.

I took it at 1.

It stopped me from taking it at 6. But from guides I've seen you're able to use tomes and then swap it at Lv.7.

You can't take ITWF until level 9 then. Not boned, just substitute another feat for the past life one if you aren't happy with it.

The BAB thing is what screwed you, the game doesn't seem to care that you didn't have the 17 dex until level 7, all my TWF melees take a throwaway feat at 6 (usually toughness) then exchange it at 7/8 after I've eaten a tome.

It does check the BAB and, as mentioned, teh BAB of the toon is only 5, not 6.

But you can alway grab it at 9 (although Id personally leave it until 12 and take improved crit at 9)

So it looks at your current Ability with tome usage as a qualifier over the ability at the time the feat was taken....good to know.

Okay, that's what I figured. Must have been something they changed after the tome changes.

Guess I'm using handwraps for awhile longer. q_q /regret making lots of Icy Burst Khopeshes for this chaacter.

You won't once you start using them. HB + IB Khopesh is awesome.
