    Default Retooling my Arcane Mechanic.

So about 12,000 plat later. I've retooled my rogues outfit.
    Added:
-Ogre Power Gloves of Disabling (+3 STR, +3 Disable Device)
-Disease Immunity Belt of Moderate Fortification (75% Negate Crit & Sneak Damage)
-Mobile Padded Armor of Invulnerability (Mobility, DR/5 Magic)
-Health Ring of Bluffing (+3 CON, +3 Bluff)

Got Bracer, Ring, Amulet, and Helm spots to tinker with. I'm not set on the Armor... its a standin while I shop for something with improved false life (+20hp). I'm running around with 113hp base now. I played around with a bodyfeeder sword... nice will keep that in mind while shopping for weapons. Hoping to get a good price on dexterous boots of jumping so I can get my jump casting working better and To Hit rolls higher. Level 9 right now with 4 levels of rogue. Getting excited for Update 5 as I could have 6 levels of rogue by then and qualify for Mechanic I (thus becoming what the build envisioned) which in return grants Repeating Light Crossbow's, hoping to find a cursespewing one.

Also bought a bodyfeeder shortsword (mentioned above) and a Crippling shortsword of Piercing... played with them a while but they don't do enough damage on their own (+1's) and I was missing running elite in Harbor... They'll go to another project of mine, the SwordSinger (Bard/Ranger 6).

Not like the plat was doing any good on my Barter Bard.

Its my main character at a very odd stage of her existence as I think i've forgotten the path she was on. Which makes more sense as i've played a variety of characters and builds. I might just need some help in finding a direction for her.

The Plan: Arcane Mechanic, since Mechanic of Meh didn't fit in the surname I went with Arcane Rogue, but its a 12/8 Rogue/Wizard. The Wizard buffs and backup heals warforged. The Rogue is your basic Trapmonkey first DPS second. You'll see from the stats that she's Acid/Electricity focused.

    Sahrian: Wizard 5/ Rogue 3 (R,W,W,W,R,W,W,R)

    The Stats:
    TYP: Base/Enhancements/Gear = Total
    STR: 9/0/1 = 10
    DEX: 17/2/1 = 20
    CON: 12/0/3 = 15
    INT: 21/1/0 = 22
    WIS: 8/0/0 = 8
    CHA: 10/0/0 = 10

    Skills:
    Balance: 5
    Concentration: 10
    Disable Device: 11
    Heal: 3.5
    Hide: 4
    Jump: 2
    Listen: 4
    Move Silently: 8
    Open Lock: 5
    Repair: 4
    Search: 11
    Spot: 8
    Swim: 3
    Tumble: 4
    UMD: 11

    Feats:
    Two Weapon Fighting
    Weapon Finesse
    Weapon Focus: Piercing
    Eschew Materials
    Extend Spell

    Enhancements: (7 points to spend)
    Improved Trap Sense
    Rogue Dexterity
    Search
    Open Lock
    Disable Device
    Sneak Attack Training
    Sneak Attack Accuracy
    Item Defense
    Electric Trap Lore
    Skill Boost
    Drow Melee Attack
    Drow Melee Damage I
    Drow Melee Damage II
    Elf Dexterity
    Energy Manipulation I
    Energy Manipulation II
    Lineage of Energy

    About 14,000xp from level 9

    Preliminary thoughts:
After writing all that out and seeing how high the INT is, I could drop the Rogue act and embrace my squishy wizardness. Won't be as good, as an 18/2 (or pure drow wizard) and the level progression a little wrong but not worth retirement.

    Limitations:
I have about 20,000 plat on the haggle bard and no turbine points to spare. I have bought Delera's Tomb and Tangleroot Gorge adventure packs.

With a 9 STR, 12 CON, and rogue/wizard hit dice, melee is going to be a problem down the road. Depending on how invested you are in this character, you may want to consider rerolling into an pure wizard, an 18/2 build, or a melee rogue.

If you were going to reroll/LR the same character, remember you do not need that high an INT for buffing/repairing. Put some points into STR/CON instead, so you can contribute through melee.

If you want to stick with this character, I would go 17/3. Just make sure to keep yourself geared with the best +CON, fortification, and false life that you can get. You will want to retrain all your feats except extend. Get toughness as soon as possible. Other good feats include maximize, quicken, empower, heighten.

    Some more:
    When standing and holding a plain Rapier & Short Sword she's a +10 & +10
An issue i'm having is how effective that is, i'm not running elite content here (in a sufficient party, maybe). I just don't know, come to think of it i've never done a true melee build. The stats do not count the bonus for flanking/sneak attacks. Which is the desired method of attack, I know I need a tank to be useful in combat. Also why I wield deception weapons.

I still have a free feat swap, think dropping eschew (despite my enjoyment of it) for Toughness and Racial Toughness I & II will happen now. Useful even for pure Wizard. *edit* Which I can't do, can only swap non wizard feats... Oh well grinding to level 9 will get me Toughness.

So thanks to an amazingly smooth run through The Pit I got Sahrian to level 9. Went Rogue, sealing her fate as a self buffing trap monkey. Her DPS was solid (The Holy Rapier of Backstabbing works for now) and she was able to contribute supporting casting with Haste and Feather Fall in the Pit. That quest seemed built for this character though, so not a true test.

So with level 9 I opted for Toughness. Which made racial toughness I and II available. Went from 74hp to 113hp! Looking for a false life item, already got a +3 CON... Anything else I should keep an eye out for, or quest reward to hunt down that I don't know about?

See the edited original post. Thanks...

You gotta spend money to make money. My ac took a hit, but hopefully damage reduction will balance it out. Need more DEX.

Caring about it makes it interesting.
