Default Most fun Reaver raid I've ever been in

Two guildees and I were on mid level characters (2 lvl 13 rogues and 1 lvl 16 monk) and had just completed Tor flagging for the Reaver. We decided we might as well form up a low level Reaver raid to celebrate the flagging. LMF went up for lvl 13-16. No takers. Tick, tock went the clock. We decided to try to short man--knowing that we weren't remotely prepared (didn't have the right weapons, supplies, etc.). Just before we stepped in, a noble lvl 14 Pally joined our group and was willing to give it a try; making it a lowby foursome.

We went in and started it up with the monk as the main tank. The 1st set of ellies dropped and we quickly realized that we wouldn't be able to kill them (wrong weapons made it too slow and accumulated too much damage since we didn't have a healer in the party and didn't have supplies). So we just ran around as the number of ellies mounted. The brave Pally ended up dying on the ceiling spikes.

After one of us got fly and hit the switch, we used the times we had fly to beat on the Giant's head to take him down, avoiding most of the ellie damage. He finally dropped--but we had run through most of our heal supplies and red bars.

On to the puzzle. Four rounds done, while more ellies accumulated. I died trying to change the colors on the 5th and final change. The monk was able to get the colors changed--nearly blinded by the mass of ellies--and then died. We just needed to pull the lever to complete. The time was almost up. The last rogue, with just a few hps left and barely any time left on the timer was able to hit the lever after some kiting--completion!

    So very stressful and fun!

We ended up getting a 10% bonus for killing nothing

The pic below shows the army of ellies coming after us as we looted the chests.

I've done this raid 100s of times--but never had this much fun before.

INFERUS SUS Sorcs (Socky, Sockie, Socklin), Rogues (Sockpuppet, Sockum), Clerics (Sockington, Sockase), FVS (Sockle), Intim (Tubesocks), Bards (Sockdolenger, Sockish), Rangers (Sockin, Sockel), Wizzy (Sockut), Kensai (Sockt), Monk (Sockfist), Arty (Sockficer, Sockcraft)

It's times like this that I turn off the mic, else I deafen party members with an outburst of hilarity. Looked like fun.

    Awesome.

If anyone ever says you cant pike the reaver better than they can, that screen shot is all the ammo you need.

Yep, the Reaver's Fate is a fun one when you get an odd assortment of folks. Also, judging by that completion time I'd say you didn't have much time on the reaver-clock before failure set in either.

    Default Similar

I had a very similar run with me on my pally and a sorc a long time ago and looks very similar.

    TOO much fun.

These are the ones we remember the most.

So much better than the flawlessly executed guild run. One is effective. The other is fun.

    Awesome...

My favorite Reaver went like this...

So we step in and start buffing and etc and get everything going. I am on my Bard and sing my songs pass out GH Blur and etc...the tank then runs in and aggros the Reaver...

Thats where it quits being normal. About 7 People follow the "tank" and they all start beating on the Reaver and not to be out-done...I JOIN! After about a minute he goes down and gave us the typical loot>>>NOTHING. Cept doing it this way we were able to run it again Immediately after. We didn't have to wait 2 days and 18 Hours. Further Proof that DPS is the best way to BEAT THE GAME!

I woulda said something, but was too busy shouting at my Girlfriend (she watches me play this and knows what/how the raids go). She was like: "What are they doing?" I thought you had to light some balls or something and then fly. I let her know that this was a 1337 Group and we were doing things a different way.

As someone said before...perfect guild runs are boring. PUG runs of this are way more fun.

2nd favorite one had about 8 people meleeing him in the middle...and then 8 people in the "Penalty Box". Then 4 of us finishing. Can you guess what happened to them?

    Default Gratz

Gratz, man. Had a guild run similar to this where all healers and high level toons were on timer, so we went with what we had, including my lvl 13 haggle bard I keep naked to leave room for storing loots to sell. With a whole 85 HPs, and no clerics, I lasted about 5 mins, but the group pulled it out. Most challenging and fun we've had in reaver in a while.

Congrats! I was considering joining it, but was just about to start a VoD on my main. I wish I had been there.

Ooooo, good question. I didn't even think about this. No, I don't remember getting any dungeon alert. If there was dungeon alert, it didn't go red--that would have done us in (pretty sure we didn't see yellow either).
