Alchemical ritual and DT armor

Hey everyone

just wanted to know if i apply an alchemical ritual on my DT armor prior to upgrading it, will i loose the bonus after i upgrade it from tier 1-3 ? or should i wait for my 3 upgrades before i apply the ritual

i was asking myself because of the probability that once you upgrade your armor, in the programing, it might become a whole new entity and with such, the ritual might disapear.
