    Default Social Panel Tutorial?

After yet another "OMG I hate blind invites" thread, I had an idea. If it's already been suggested then please disregard this post.

But I was thinking about how helpful it might be if the Grotto quest had a brief demo on how to use the Social Panel.

Basically, before you could start the quest you would have to use the Social Panel (or a simplified demo version thereof) to group with Jeets and company. You would have to open it, create a party, select the quest and then accept the join requests from all three NPCs. Maybe Jeets could talk the player through it (or not, that might be kind of annoying).

Nothing too major, and then every new player would know the Social Panel was there and have an idea of how it works.

Maybe it would cut down on LFGs in General Chat, maybe it would curb the dreaded blind invite.

    Maybe not.

    What do you think?

You may want to turn on your reputation bars for this one...

Yes, this has been suggested before. But it is definitely worth suggesting again.

Tip #71: '3d6' means three six-sided dice are being rolled. For example, when you see that a weapon does '2d4' damage, it means that two 4-sided dice are rolled for damage, for a damage range of 2-8. <--Too difficult to understand? Really?

While I don't think such a tutorial would turn down the dreaded blind invites - some people are just rude, and the most sophisticated tool won't change that - this is a great suggestion. The game needs much more documentation which is available ingame.

On the other hand, I don't get it how people can reach lvl 5 or higher without stumbling over it at least by accident. I mean, there are a ton of nice shiny buttons on top of the screen - are they afraid to start an atomic bomb by clicking them at least once to see what happens?

/signed you arent really in a party with Jeets and co. This would be a good way of teaching players about the social panel, there are still way too many people using general chat to find groups.

It would help. It wouldn't completely remove the problem, but it would make it less of a nuisance. Plus the newer players that 'get' it will learn sooner on when to join a group or make your own by being able to identify tutorial-proof players from the start of the game.

I love this idea it would save me a ton of frustration....plus I'd get yelled at less when trying to be helpful and telling someone blind invites are considered a social faux pas.
