Default Planning on TRing into a Wizard. Drow or WF?

And I'm going back on forth on the race. I can't decide if I like Drow for the extra Int (but lower Con) or Warforged for the Extra Con, self healing, and immunities.

Also, I have a Dragontouched Shroud that is perfect, and I don't really enjoy the thought of creating a Docent.

I'm planning on going pure Wiz, and if they fix Pale Master like they're claiming that they will be in the next update, I'd consider going that route, as well.

    Thoughts? Advice?

I dunno....I love the WF, especially if you have 32 points, which I assume you do. Anyway. The dragontouched shroud is pretty big, since its exactly how you want it. Drow is very good, just be more self sufficient with the UMD, i'm sure a tr could easily get to heal scroll territory.

    WARFORGED

I TRed my capped Drow Wizard into a Favored Soul then a Warforged Sorc.

By far the warforged sorc was overpowered and almost broken. I RARELY died. Once you can cast a quicken reconstruct on yourself, with the BIG hit points you have, you will be almost impossible to kill. I would definately do a warforged wizard.

drow because warforged look so stupid =P sorry i love warforged in pen and paper but in this game look NOTHING like what they should. To big, to bulky, facial features are really bland... i can never tell one warforged from another, and this is why i rolled a drow wizard with a decent charisma and UMD also the whole can wear robes appeal to!

Edit: on a serious note, can do a bit more with a drow then can a WF, more to the game then being self sufficient, having a high UMD and plenty of scrolls and wands lets you heal not just yourself but also your group. On my drow wizard saved group a few times by helping cleric heal, or cleric got locked out of a room so i spamed my wands and scrolls to keep everyone up as far as i can tell WF has low charisma and not sure they can manage this as effectively. I think both good, WF for solo, Drow for groups.

Wizards are about DCs. Drow is really the only choice.

Definitely go warforged. The self-heals are very nice.

Really? Because my Elven, Human and WF wizards do fine.

OP it depends on your needs, my WF wizard currently was my best soloer do to the ease of self healing via repair. But I find all my wizards enjoyable to play despite what others think about what race gets the better boosts.

I think if your looking for a wizard that can have decent hp, damage reduction and good fort on top of the self repair wf is a good way to go. But if you play your character smart any race can be choosen for wizard and be viable.

This is a question near to my heart. I have been torn about what to do about it for some time. I had a drow wizard that I true reincarnated first to a drow sorc, and finally to a WF wizard. DCs are very important so I hate not having that one more DC (the main reason I reincarnated was to have 1 more DC).

Someone mentioned being able to UMD. You can do this on a WF wizard as well, but you are certainly better at it on a drow.

The WF survivability is a factor in epic content, and I believe it is the deciding factor at the moment, which is why I haven't true reincarnated back to a drow wizard.

Another important factor is gear. WF get the quariforged docent, which is easy to get and upgrade. Drow can use some of the nice robes out there. The eardweller is a little nicer on drow, for a few more mana (if you can go without tossing a heal on yourself for that long, or have time in the tavern before the quest).

Anyways, I can see going both ways. Currently though, I think reconstruct is a bit more important. Once I get another +3/+4 int tome I may change my mind.
Doing a good job here is like peeing in a dark suit.

You get a warm feeling, but nobody really notices.

My WF Wiz is great in groups... intimidates the mobs off the party, uses Heal scrolls on the ones who aren't attacking the mobs from behind, and still has time for a quickened Reconstruct before the Intim timer resets.

I can't help the ones who run screaming out of the room, though
