Bard casting help

Running epics quite abit, hold monster fails often. What can I get/do to help?

Heres what I have so far:
feats--sp pen, grtr sp pen, sp foc ehchant, grtr sp foc enchant
spell pen enhancements X3
+2 focus enchant for dreamspitter
lvl 20 bard drow
charisma 42


any help appreciated

Only big thing I see keeping you from max DC is a lack of Heighten. That's an extra 2 there. If you're TR, then you can take the Bard TR feat for another +1 DC.

Unfortunately, epic monsters just plain have ridiculous will saves. Fascinate song and Otto's irresistible are probably your best bets for crowd control.

I have only run epic a few times, so take what I say with a grain of salt.

My build is similar to yours, but Human, and have heighten.

For the mobs I was failing my Hold Monser on, I was hitting them up with an enervate scroll first. Due to the fact that epic monsters take a little longer to kill, this seems a viable tactic.

i.e. You could fascinate a room, then enervate, hold. Or OID on one mob, enervate, hold another.

Enervate is slow off a scroll.
