Default Best Tower of Despair Sets for Sorcerer

I'm trying to figure out what would be the best Tower of Depair Belt/Ring sets to put on my caster. Any advice is appreciated!

    My current gear set-up is:
    Helm: Minos Legens
    Goggles: GS SP
Armor: DT: Res+5, CHA 6, Glacial Assault / Regalia
    Bracers: Glacier
Ring: Thelis - could swap for ToD ring.
    Boots: Striding, Anchoring
    Gloves: Glacier
    Ring: ???
    Belt: ???
Cloak: Stormreaver's Napkin - Close to getting Epic Cloak of the Concord
    Trinket: Head of Good Fortune
    Necklace: Cartouche (planning on Torc)

the only decent set is the archmage set, mostly you'll just want to wear a 6 con gfl belt and a radiant or lorinther's/ defender of siberys ring.
Arannel, Aqueous, Cocobolo, Arboreous, Erudirion, Congruous, and Cogs

Options are nice. I like the Archmage set for nuking. It's also handy to have one of the sorcerer rings with a charisma upgrade, and +1 exceptional charisma on either an epic item or on a DT robe if you can fit it. Then you can use the Staff of the Petitioner without losing charisma that is often on a shroud weapon. The Staff of the Petitioner is great for epics, with its 10% sp cost reduction.

If you can eventually get enough red dragon scales for a robe, you can then do very SP efficient fire-nukes with the robe and staff. Combine these effects with the Gloves the Glacier, a Noxious Embers clickie/Litany clickie, and you can cast Wall of Fire all day long.

    Sets?
No, all the sets are pretty terrible for a sorc due to stacking issues. We can only hope they fix this with the release of the elemental savant pre.

Rings: Yea same as shroud gear, get a couple
Get 1 with exception cha+1 and cha+2 for dc
Get 1 with exceptional con+1 and con+2 for hp. One with str6 is nice.

    I use thamors and lorinthors.

brain fart, forgot about the other TOD rings. They are a definite choice for snagging that +1 exc. charisma.

Another decent option option could be Thamor's and the Band of Syberis, pr Ann Velsing's, but the BoS, Ann Velsing's and Lorinthor's are interchangeable as they have the same effects.

I'd put +2 exceptional charisma on Thamor's and +2 exceptional constitution on the BoS/Lorinthor's/Velsing's.

Good advice Shade. The sets are practically useless... I guess I should just look for individual items.

    The Occult slayer is tempting:
    • Belt: CON +6, GFL
    • Ring: STR+6, Con+1 (Crafting +2 Exc CON)
    • Set: +2 will/reflex saves, SR 22 (replaces Thelis)

Then my second ring would have +1 Exc CHA, and Crafted +2 Exc CHA:
    • Amara WIS +6, CHA+1 (+2 Exc CHA)
    • Radiant:WIS +6, CHA+1 (+2 Exc CHA)

Other +1 CHA rings... though if I go Occult Slayer, the STR goes un-used.
    • Ann Velsings: STR+6, CHA+1
    • Siberys: STR+6, CHA+1
    • Lorinthor: STR+6, CHA+1

    Additional Belts:
    • All the clickies: Frost, Fire, Efficiency...

Now would it make more sense to put Exc CHA+1 on my Epic Cloak of Silver Concord??... what other properties could go in the Empty Yellow Slot?

You could do that. Any +6 stat, immunity (fear, disease, poison), +1 DC to a single spell school, Greater False Life, are all options for a yellow slot.

and if you happen to have enough Silver Flame favor, you could always just boost up whatever dump stat you have under 11.

mm yea didnt consider that one, would actaully be an upgrade from what I got. Since Thamors gives cha+6 and i use the epic cloak cha+7 anyways..

mm maybe I'll change it around eventually.. Got allot re-lvling to do while I double tr first.

Eh either way they need to fix the stacking issues so we stop wearing those con6 gfl belts and are tempted to give up the hp for more caster power, if they do go that route.. The GFL would have to go in that yellow slot in the epic cloak.. Time will tell.

I used to wear the Occult Slayer set until I picked up the Archmage belt. If I see a good reason to go back, I might. I'm still liking the extra crit damage from the Archmage set, though.

I thought they didn't stack. They changed it?

Greater Arcane Lore adds .25 to your spell crit damage. The Archmage set adds .5. Using both, you have the spell crit chance of greater arcane lore (9%) with the spell crit damage of the Archmage set, essentially combining into Major Arcane Lore.

They don't "stack," per se, they combine.

Yup: It takes the greater crit change (arcane lore) and the greater crit multiplier (archmagi)
