Default how by bypass Mummy DR in Sands

Took advantage of the sale on xpacs to buy the Sands of Menutcharum (or however it's spelled). Ventured out there with my lvl 9 pally and ran into those mummies (Mummy, Mummy Guardians, and Mummy Avengers). And I couldn't for the life of me figure out what kind of weapon to use to bypass the mummy DR.

I started out using a +2 Holy Greataxe of Pure Good, but was getting yellow damage numbers from the main damage--so clearly that wasn't getting by the DR. Then I remembered something about fire, so I then pulled out my Xuum (Fire damage falchion). Attacked with that, was still getting yellow (reduced) damage numbers. I even pulled out a +2 metalline greatsword...still, was getting yellow damage numbers.

I asked around in-game but no one had any good suggestions. Even the DDO wiki (normally great for info like this) had nothing useful I could find.

    Anyone have any ideas?

Mummies have DR/- You cant bypass it. However, they are extremaly flamable inmost cases taking doubel damage from Fire.

My fighter just trips them... a few extra hits after the trip and they are done for. A flaming weapon of undead bane is very nice.

The DR should be on average 5....perhaps higher for named mummies, I haven't really ever checked, since the firewalls kill them so **** fast.

This is usually the case (I think they may have 15 or 20 on Epic).

Just get a Flaming weapon and ignore their DR.
    I don't have a zerging problem.

I was using a flaming weapon and there was still DR. As I stated clearly in my initial post. At least for the Sands mummies, flaming weapon does NOT bypass their DR.

They are not saying the weapon damage on a flaming weapon will bypass the DR, it is the fire/bane damage that is uneffected by it.

The downside, though, is that some of them (Avengers, and maybe Guardians) cast protection from fire on themselves as they are approaching you. So even that type of damage may be reduced.

Oh, and it's a good idea to have a deathblock item on when fighting them. Slay Living tends to hurt!

From my experience, mummies tend to disrupt pretty easily.
Main: Castagir (completionist), officer of the Fighting Clowns of Sarlona. Alts: Modric, Modrich, Kristna and others.

The dr on a normal mummy is not very significant to a strength based character with some DPS on it... Damage reduction 5/- is for a normal mummy ... it is increased on difficulty levels but I think by the time you're ready to beat them up in epic you'll be more than ready to.

People have mentioned their vulnerability to fire - that means all fire causes (+50%) damage. Mummy lord types have a fire resistance of 10 so does not matter so much... Typical like near all undead arcane type casters tend to rule them via fire spells.

By 'ignore', I didn't mean 'bypass', I meant 'do so much damage that the DR is hard to notice'.

So, grab a flaming weapon and ignore their DR

If you run into a caster mummy you can switch to something like holy/pg, because they usually cast fire prot/resist on themselves. If they don't: Rejoice, for fire damage gets them quickly (even with their DR)

Ahh, misread that. My bad. Good advice.
