    Default First WF-went Barbarian

I just created one yesterday and have noticed some good things and some bad things.

Great hp, great Rage, but serious damage when hit by fire. It seems like I get zapped pretty hard by electricity too. Huge hp, but horrible recharging if hp gets low.

Are there tips that I can follow that will minimize the damage I take, especially from fire? I have a feeling this guy can be very good, but it can also be very bad. I hate being a detriment to my team.

Barbarians can get an enhancement that reduces the fire damage you take. It's well worth it at low levels, as is the acid version.

Everyone takes that huge lightning damage at low levels Tactics help - kill or disable those kobold shamans first, hide behind walls, etc. Most monsters have a spell casting animation that tells you when to dodge.

Warforged don't take additional damage from any element/damage type. They actually take reduced damage from physical attacks because they have DR, as do Barbarians.

For fire you can either 1. Try to avoid it, spot the traps and time your way through them or 2. Get some Resist Energy pots which will reduce your damage from that element significantly.

Maybe my dwarf characters just aren't as big a target. I just seem to be getting hit aweful hard by fire attacks. I have been doing more hiding lately and I guess I'll just have to wait before I can get the good fire protection stuff.

It's pretty easy to dodge scorching rays and lightning bolts once you recognize the caster animations. Make sure those casters go down quick, especially divine ones in a few levels. I usually go for trippers after that. Best of luck!

Be on the lookout for low level resist and protection from energy clickies from vendors and quest rewards. They can help quite a bit before rushing in to battle.

Hopefully in a while I'll be able to recognize the animation in time to dodge. Right now battles are a blur. So much going on, let alone if I turn.

I'm thinking about splashing Sorcerer so that I can use the heal wands on myself. I've seen someone else do it and didn't think it was such a great idea until I've played this character. I didn't know about the warforged "healing issue". What would be a good level to splash? Or I suppose the better question is which level would be the wrong level to splash.

Do note that WF DR and Barbarian DR does NOT stack. Take the Barbarian DR line as it's better.

I wouldn't bother splashing. you will miss out ont he Capstone when you finally reach level 20, which is +2 To Str/Con. great stuff.

Repair Potions are your friend. If you h ave a high charisma toon get a hagle item and buy them with that toon and send them over. It'll help in quests alot.
