Hmm... that heavy pick is nice true, but here is the thing. Against anything BUT evil outsiders it loses 3d6 damage, against anything but EVIL mobs it loses holyburst. It doesn't have a huge crit range... most of its power comes from working things over in auto-critical. Furthermore its only metal property is silver. Sure its great against the devil bosses and stuff around Amrath, but you try using that thing against a golem and all you are getting is a +5 modifier without punching through DR. Everything else just went out the window.

As for the warhammer that is because epic is all about 5% weighted until the mob stuns or the caster lands a hold and you and your friends then drain its 5000+ HP. They aren't rewards that will show up in the reward list. You have a small little chance of pulling them out of the chests in the quest. The only static 5% weighted I know of is the Tenderizer. Be nice to have another dedicated source to pull one that also lets the stunner have some extra damage output.

There are Weapons which are situationally better then Min II. Epic Xuum or Epic SoS for example.

To give out such weapons as a static reward for one Quest is RIDICULOUS overpowered.
+1 Holy Silver GEOB would probably be more reasonable, but it's possible to find random loot that provides the stat mentioned earlier, why shouldn't they be available as end rewards to a quest? Maybe add some other quests to that to make a sort of chain?

There are several weapons that are much better than Mineral II against non-DR monsters without even moving to epic loot. And while, yes, most of the current endgame is devils with Silver/Good DR, we will eventually get more with other types (epic reavers need cold iron) and the Mineral II will continue to be useful while items like these will be much less so.

Personally I don't like the idea of giving DR breakers away in this quest as end items. They're available at a very low price on the auction house on Thelanis anyways.
Thanks for the long time forum user purge of Aug '10 (Sarcasm for those who don't get it)

We get price-gouged for even mediocre stuff on Khyber. +1 Metalline of PG anything will run you 1 to 15 million gold, depending on weapon type. Occasionally you'll be able to find one in the half a mil range, but that's a rarity. I'd sell some of mine for much less just so new players would be able to go into The Shroud prepared, but I knwo that it's more likely a vet would see the deal, snatch it up and then turn around and sell it for mountain of gold, so I bank any I find for later characters or to give to up and coming guildies.

Personally, I see the lack of a source for pit fiend beaters to be a glaring oversight, as not having an appropriate weapon for The Shroud can really limit your ability to contribute, and having a whole group without appropriate weapons almost assuredly spells failure, though not always, and I dislike the idea that for most people, they need to complete a quest 20 or more times just to be able to be very effective in completing that same quest at all.

Perhaps +1 Holy Silver of EOB rather than +5 of GEOB? Or something unique and interesting, but with a lower damage profile? Keeping in mind, however, that the weapons would need to be more effective than using a decent DPS weapon that doesn't bypass DR for them to be at all attractive.

I was about to flame him for the OPness of those weapons, then I realised that that is irrelevant, and he only posted those to make an example, that a unique and challenging quest like this should have some decent named items, dependent on difficulty.

Devil Assault is hard as hell, which is fine. (pun intended)
But they need to speed it up! The sitting around 20sec between mobs is what gets most people complaining.
