/signed BUT with reservations.
1. Having a Mass Resist (MR) spell that works like Mass Protect (protecting against every element at one casting,) would be over powering, BUT having the MR set so that U would have to cast MR for EACH element (i.e. casting MR acid then MR fire and so on,) would be better and not game breaking. MR would also have to be a MUCH higher level spell than Mass Protect.
This would insure that casters would have to manage SP and not just spam all the resists at once.
2. Having one of the meta magic feats allow mass casting of any spell is a BAD IDEA. Even having the meta feat only mass cast for one kind of spell would lead to problems, mostly concerning game breaking issues that to most should be apparent.
And for those who can’t see the game breaking issues this could cause U JUST HAVE TO READ MOST OF THE PREVIOUS POSTS,
P.S. for those that don't like the amount of color I put in my posts TO BAD!!I like the way my posts look and I will write/make my posts the way I want! - U write/make Ur posts the way U want!

Please try to remember THIS IS JUST A GAME!! So have FUN, LAUGH, and ENJOY YOURSELVES.I try to understand what others mean, NOT just what they say! Failing that I still try to keep an open mind about all things. And YES, everyone has the right to be wrong, ignorant, and just plain stupid, (this includes myself.) BUT that doesn't mean I have to like it.
I think adding mass resists similar to mass protects would be a bit overpowering. However, adding mass resists that place a single resist (only one of Fire, Cold, etc) on the party would be a bit more realistic.
I think it's common to see a caster put a single resist on all party members. But I rarely see anyone hand out all 5 resists to all members. If that's how mass resist worked, it would be too mana efficient in my opinion.
If it were just 1 resist applied to all, then I think it should be a fairly high level spell (8 or 9). That would make us make a hard choice as to which spell to carry, especially for those that are multiclassed. It would also benefit Wizards more than Sorcs, as they have more spell slots. To me, anything that helps Wizards more than Sorcs in terms of flexability is good for class balance in the current state of the game.
So, in my opinion, yes...mass resist would be a nice addition. But it should be one type of resist per cast, and should be a 9th level spell.

Thanks for all the great replys so far. I understand the pov that it may seem over powered. Personally, I feel if the spell were implemented properly, it would more than likely not be chosen my sorcerers, due to the fact, some of the resist are unneccessary in most quests, and with their limited spell selection perhaps not the best choice. As a wizard, I feel it would be nice to have the option to choose it, and like I said previously, make it cost as much spell points as casting each resist individualy would cost. That may make people think twice before casting it. Reason being, you are actually spending more spell points to cast some resists that would not be utilized.
Basically, what it comes down to is less button smashing. If I need to cast resist fire and acid on a shroud group I will, but is painstakingly long. I would just as well cast a mass resist, just to save the time.
If it costs me 25 points per resist, I would happily spend 250 Points to cast one mass resist. Just to save time.
Thats just my point of view, I am sure if the devs are listening they could implement something along the lines of what some of us are asking for, it could be balanced and a welcomed addition to the spell tree.
Thanks for discussing.
