    Default Firewalling for Dummies.

I just got firewall for the first time and was playing around with it a bit. I got a little help from someone on the /advice channel.

This is kind of what I came up with between his advice and my playing around:

    1. Basic Firewall Targetting
    - Turn off auto-targetting ( G key ).
    - Turn on mouselook ( T key or hold down the Right Mouse Button ).
    - Clear your target selection.
    - Aim with little white circle.

    2. Firewall Orientation
    - Firewall always lands perpendicular to your character’s facing at end of cast.
    - If you cast a firewall directly in front of you and quickly turn 90 degrees to either side your firewall will be in straight line from where you are standing.

    3. Using crates for placement.
    - You can cast firewall on targets that are behind you.
    - Firewall doesn’t appear to break crates.
    - You can target a crate as you are running towards it, pass it and then cast firewall. This will leave a firewall burning in your wake.

Are there any other tips or tricks to using firewall? I've read in a few posts that mentions clicking a spot on the ground to target the placement of your firewall but I haven't been able to get that to work.

You don't have to use crates. Click the ground with your white circle while in mouselook. It works for me. Tower Shields are also useful situationaly.

Cast from the top of a jump - it's easier to precisely aim a firewall at the ground that way.
    I don't have a zerging problem.

    I'm zerging. That's YOUR problem.

Clicking the ground doesn't seem to do anything for me. If I don't have something targetted in my Focus Orb, the firewall ends up being cast whereever my white circle happens to be pointing at the time that I cast.

You can use Wall of Fire and Web together, just don't lay down your Wall of Fire on the center of the Web. Experiment to find the right place, you just need to be off center of the Web a bit.

You have to hit escape when you have something in your focus orb to clear it before targeting the ground. You can turn off soft targeting if you dont want this to happen.

I've tried different combos of soft-targeting and auto-targeting and still can't target a spot on the ground that I don't currently have the targeting reticle over.

I can point the targeting reticle at the empty spot of ground or wall and cast my firewall there. What I can't do is target a spot on the ground, run past it and then cast my firewall behind me.

    I can't figure what I'm doing wrong.
