    Default 36 point ranger 13 /fighter 6 /monk1 PEWPEWPEW build.

Hello all, this is my first build creation attempt. This specific character will TR into FVS from paladin, and then into this setup. I may need some help cause I'm not 100% on ranger/fighter bonus feats.

Goal of the build: to achieve the absolute highest DPS possible that will work in all situations. Sure, rogues have sneak attack, and paladins can smite demons pretty well, but i want this character to mulch anything in front of him, giants, spider, demons, undead, dragons, hobgoblins, and the rest.

Starting stat points: Since I'll have 36 stat points to work off ok (oh what expensive stat points too :/) I can afford to start with 18 strength. The tomes i'm planning on eating are a +1 int at level 3 (to maximize skill points) and the a superior +2 to all tome at 7. Total stat point distribution at character creation are as described.

    18 / 11 / 16 / 13 / 10 / 8

Feats and levels: as you can see i'm not sure what the last feat should be. Tips?
    1. Monk. monk feat: toughness level 1 feat: dodge
    2. ranger
    3. ranger. level feat mobility
    4. ranger
    5. ranger
    6. ranger level feat spring attack
    7. ranger
    8. fighter fighter feat khopesh
    9. fighter level feat icrit slashing
    10. fighter fighter feat weapon focus slashing
    11. fighter
    12. fighter level feat stunning blow fighter feat weapon spec slashing
    13. fighter
    14. ranger
    15. ranger level feat power attack
    16. ranger
    17. ranger
    18. ranger level feat ??? OTWF?
    19. ranger
    20. ranger

    Enhancements:
obv. fighter kensai 1, ranger tempest 2, all pre-reqs, human/ fighter toughness 3 fighter haste enhancement, kensai khopesh focus str 2-3, favored enemy 4, anything else that looks good (i don't know too much about fighter/ranger enhancements).

Since this is my first build, please help out you old timers C: thanks!

    Seems like a great build!
If you are wanting Pure Dps I would do one of the following:

    or

Not saying your build is bad or anything it would be doing outstanding Dps. I just want to give you more options

p.s non of these builds are 36 point so you could easily make them uber better!

    Good luck

It looks like you started with base DEX 11; however, you can't take Dodge / Mobility / SA until you hit DEX 13 and your +2 tome wouldn't kick in until lvl 7.

From what I've read, monk 2 / ranger 6 / fighter 12 is a better DPS build: Kensai II > Tempest II. That's presuming you don't want all the other benefits from extra levels of ranger, of course. And you would need to hit DEX 17 to make it work, which I'm guessing you're trying to avoid so you can max your STR.

I would take a ranger level first to max your skill points. Sure, it's only 8 points extra, but free points is free points.

Ranger 13 doesn't get you much. I would lean towards monk 2 instead for the extra feat. Plus if you take it early on, you can get Evasion that much sooner (me likey Evasion!).

My main is Rgr 12 / Ftr 6 / Mnk 2. I love the build, but would recommend you really consider Ftr 12 / Rgr 6 / Mnk 2 if dps is your objective. Rgr 12 is nice for the 30 pt resists, full barkskin, etc. But it falls behind the ftr 12 version in dps. Since I do a lot of pugs and solo stuff with mine I prefer that trade off, but most would rather have the dps for raids.

Either way you'll have fun, just some food for thought!

hm, ok, interesting. I don't want to play a barb tho, just because the guy i duo with is going to go 36 point barb. I'll check out 'the monster' and see if i like the setup.

Edit: just FYI, the monster link you gave me is rather outdated. newer link here: http://community.codemasters.com/for...ml#post4807678

You wont get Tempest II from only 6 levels of ranger.

    @ Jayzilla

Tell me what ya think about the monster build. If you dont like it I can roll you something up

Yes, that's my point: most people think ranger 6 / fighter 12 (Tempest I / Kensai II) is better than ranger 12 / fighter 6 (Tempest II / Kensai I) from a DPS perspective. Apologies if that wasn't clear.

Maybe I just misread but IMO I think that 12 Fighter 6 Ranger is better in a Dps Perspective

    Some quick pointers.

*Tempest 2 is actually kind of meh. Kensai 2 is pretty dang great though.
*The past life choices are a little confusing there. I would suggest if you want the max benefit for the grind... Monk->Monk->This build. The +1 damage per hit from monk is very hard to beat.
*The monster build is a very solid build of this sort. I suggest you check it out for ideas/outright copy.
