    Default Ranged FvS 12/F6/Rgr2

    Just got into building, haven't leveled anything to 20, this is a bare minimum and most likely not optimized very well. First off I know ranged DPS is not high, so I figured I'd make this build with the ability to throw in some heals along with getting some ranged in. Let me know what you guys think. Only built using 1 Tome which was required for a feat, everything else is pretty slim (HP especially). I think I may be able to take toughness earlier to fill in for some of the other enhancements to get more HPs.

    Looks interesting, and probably lots of fun to play.

    I'm a little curious what you are going to be extending? You don't take extend spell till level 18, when you already have 10 levels of favored soul. The min per level spells never really need to go from 10 mins to 20 mins, and most divine buffs are min/level. Is it just for divine power/favor?

    That's what I was thinking, but I was also thinking of dropping that for another toughness if the build needs more HP, what're your thoughts?

    Its a Ranger without Evasion and PrEs but with more spell points?

    I'd go Monk2/Ranger6/Cleric12. Can have better AC, Evasion, more freedom with spells (3x lvl 6 slots), can take Divine Might for extra damage. You even get Improved TWF as bonus.

    I assume he's going favored soul for the free +1 to hit and +2 to damage longbow feats fvs gets. Plus cleric 12 isn't necessarily any better than fvs 12, they both get 6th level spells.

    Going fighter over ranger just lets him take two more caster feats. Although I'm not sold on his choice of improved mental toughness or extend... so ranger could work.

    Perhaps at level 18 take empower heal? I assume you are taking raise and mass cure light at 5 and heal with your level 6 slot. With only mass cure light empower heal will help.

    Or, alternatively, if you were thinking of mostly soloing I'd go with quicken so that you can always cast your heal spells on yourself.


    Also, taking ranger gets him no pre (aa is from elf, and you can't stack with tempest) so with fighter he at least gets kensai I.

    Bow damage:
    +2 fvs
    +2 wep spec
    +1 kensai
    +2 elf
    +3 (divine favor)

    So +7 to +10 damage depending on whether divine favor is up, and he's still a decent backup healer. Not going to challenge kensai aa 18/1/1 or ranger 20 for max bow dps, but may be one of the best archer solo builds I've seen.

    mm ok dropping Extend for Empower. Then that leaves the other feat free (Instead of Imp Mental Toughness). Which I guess from what I've seen could be used for a past life feat if I TR?

    What about ranger 2 / fighter 2 / FvS 16? You give up two feats (probably Spec:Ranged and Imp Mental Toughness) and lose kensai, but gain lvl 7 & 8 spells.
