    Default Tempest Spine for fun!

I have a fun idea for TS. Probably been done already, but I wanna do it myself.

    NEKKED RUN!

Start the quest with no armor and no weapons. You can use any weapons or amor you loot during the quest.

In the spirit of fun, keep the caster's and monk's to a minimum. Nothing personal, it's just cheating

Anybody wanna come? level's 8-20 ELITE diff.

These can be very run runs (they were done a lot in the old days).

Another tip--make some looting rules that move things along. It can get a little painful with the group spending 10 minutes at each chest figuring out the "best" way to allocate the available gear. Two suggestions here: 1) you can only loot what drops in your name; or 2) individual chests are assigned to a single person - that person loots everything from the chest they want (everything is put in their name) or decides (quickly) who gets the stuff they can't use.
INFERUS SUS Sorcs (Socky, Sockie, Socklin), Rogues (Sockpuppet, Sockum), Clerics (Sockington, Sockase), FVS (Sockle), Intim (Tubesocks), Bards (Sockdolenger, Sockish), Rangers (Sockin, Sockel), Wizzy (Sockut), Kensai (Sockt), Monk (Sockfist), Arty (Sockficer, Sockcraft)

Done these several times, but my general MO is to have everyone loose everything they had, as if they'd been caught, stripped of all valuables, thrown in a dungeon, and creatively escaped with only their rags on. That means no lockpicks for rogues, no spell components for casters, no weapons or armor for melee...

Makes for some interesting times when you get to a door and the rogue can't unlock it (wizard with knock ftw!!) or when you can't resurrect someone till a shrine because no clerical components have been found.

A couple of times we even got lucky and had a wizard with the eschew materials feat. He got used a lot....

Nothin like getting excited over that +1 thundering mace, or lesser acid guard robe of power III!

    Cool

Yes it has been done before, and yes it is alot of fun. Like the others have mentioned...set the ground rules to make it nice and quick. I personally allow the rogue to have tools at the ready just so we don't get stuck n ot being able to get through the pick or knock doors.
Also, be sure folks understand, the characters are the ones who are "nekked" being "nekked" at your PC while playing is optional!

Good points! I kinda did one of these the other night. Half the fun was using gear that you weren't proficient with. Seeing the monk wielding a great sword wearing full plate was pretty epic.

Clerics? Who said we got clerics? LOL

I tried to, but you thought Reavers was more important. :P

    Anyways, it was a succuss!!!!
Lead my first "Nekked Run" the other night and had a blast. Even after the only Rogue bailed just before the first trap... Much to everyones surprise, not a single person died from a single trap (on elite).
Fire and ice was the testing grounds. But, everyone stuck to their guns. I made a quick stone gather and hit the shrine to regroup. But after a modification of the normal ritual for killing fire and ice, we got it done (took three diferent attempts).
Chest #1: It was amazing to hear high level players get excited about pulling low level weapons. Except me, I got a +4 crossbow and no bolts..
After fire and ice the rest was pretty easy. Each chest had their share of bragging about the loot they just pulled. I now have a new interest in using picks....

Fun was had by all and I WILL be doing this again!
    Thanks to all that joined

    Hey Yuda!

I love the naked runs, TS being one of my favorites.

Funny story, after doing a series of naked runs on a lowbie character, and logging out. I came back later, and went to join a group and got MyDDO'd - the guy flipped out, asking what the heck I was doing with that kind of **** equipped.

I just had to LOL, and didn't even try to explain.

Quest chains are very fun to do naked, too. When we're all bored or on raid timers, we'll load up lowbies and do the Depths in House D, Sharn's, Sentinels, STK, Tangleroot. We start naked, not even spell components. You get to keep and use what you loot throughout the entire evening. It's a blast to see someone get excited when they pull a +2 Club, or Masterwork Chain. Reminds me of way back when, before Korthos and the Monty Haul treasure tables.
