Bard spell lvl 3/4 choices

Ok, I'm coming up on Bard 10 and:
For level 3 I have Good Hope / Haste / Displacement and am looking to pick between Slow and Crushing Despair. Currenty goingwith Slow because it seems like an all-around better debuff.

For my Level 4 spells it's Otto's sphere and either Hold Monster or Dominate Person. Hold monster currently preferred because it works for a wider variety of creatures.

Any input on the spell choices? Crowd control is my primary group function, with quite limited healing & I'm a Virtuoso at present.

I would look at picking up crushing despair at some point, because you can debuff some bosses with it. It's also quite nice to throw layer of crowd control on nasty mobs, i.e. crushing despair, mass suggestion, otto's ball (or a mind fog in there).

I like Hold MOnster, but given a choice I would take Otto's Ball first, because it can get many a tricky pug through the mid levels.

I wouldn't keep myself to quite 'limited healing', you can easily be a very accomplished 6-man healer, while retaining your CC abilities, if you put in the effort.

I like freedom of movement, hold monster, Ottos sphere of dancing, and dimension door.

3rd level spells I like Haste, Cure, Charm Monster, and your choice.

Thanks for the comments - the typical group this guy has been in is Paladin, 2 FvS, Cleric, Wizard & him, so he really doesn't need to heal a lot. I appreciate that bards can be very sound healers, but in that group - why on earth?
