While I like the idea of a pop-up roller appearing when someone tries to pick up the scroll...I'd suggest the Devs just make it slightly simpler to make Epic items. Honestly...grinding Epic quests that have a timer for three different items is really ridiculous, especially for people that don't play DDO constantly.
In the time between the last post in this thread before yours, and yours, the problem with ninja-looting of scrolls was fixed. The game randomly gives each scroll to a party member.

And while the Epic grind is excessive, it's not the timers that are the problem. The timers are actually there to help level the playing field between those with different amounts of play time. The problems are the ridiculous drop rates on many of the components, the lack of any kind of "20th completion" mechanism, and the lousiness of many of the "Epic" items.

They did remove the problem. Scrolls don't drop as baggies anymore, they're auto-assigned when a monster that had a scroll dies.

    Nice thread necro mate.

    Well, not so necro...

While they may have fixed the scroll issue (thanks goodness!), the ninja problems with soul gems, eardwellers, etc. still exist.

ALL ninja'able items should be corrected. It's really a bad thing to have this kind of game mechanic in DDO for 'high end' items.

Would be awesome if trap the soul had another option, that in addition to the CR choice it gave you a poison choice. Using this it would drop a poison gem that would deal stat damage over time to anyone who picked it up.
