    Default Bank Slots

Instead of making us pay a ridiculous amount (995 TP per character) for an additional +20 personal bank space, why not make that the 3rd tier of House K favor? This allows each character the ability to unlock it. Almost 6000 TP for this for my 6 characters means I won't be buying this!

Wow you guys are mean. If they did that then how would the devs buy new cars for their kids? Really they need more ways to make outrageous sums on silly things.

    My suggestion:
    New mob

    Name : Plat Eater
Model: Same as Rust monster except silver skin
Damage: Same as rust monster except on every hit this mob eats 1d10 TP from your account. If you do not have 10 TP free on your account the monster instead eats 1d10 K plat from your character. This special attack replaces the normal rust monster attack.

995 TP's, really? This is why I hardly ever buy anything from the DDO store, mainly just my one TR and a handful of xp pots when I leveled my main. I would be perfectly willing to spend TP's on fluff things if they were set at a reasonable amount, but that price point is outrageous.

We can discuss what prices, cost/benefit, et al, but don't expect game improvements if they don't get money somehow.

( Although what they're gonna do with all the money they are getting ... that is a whole different story )

You are correct. However, they will make MORE money by making people not think twice about spending. If something kewl is cheap enough, people just buy it on a whim. If on the other hand, it requires actually thinking about it... then a much higher proportion of people will choose not to buy it, and spend their points on other stuff.

A hireling mid instance when I'm in dire need because I've bitten off more than i can chew solo - cheap enough that I just think 'sod it' and buy one. Bank slots at 900pts that I only need because I'm a hoarder? I'll adjust my platstyle and do without.

From what I read on Tolero's Twitter feed this week, the new Bank Slots for sale are supposed to be PER Character, not per account.

That being said, the description seems to indicate the same thing, PER Character, not per account.

BUT ***, the price is highway robbery 2 months of VIP bonus TP (unless you sign up now, then it is 1 month), for a per character store item. Come on, stop being greedy Turbine.

You are correct as well. It's just that I see many people complaining about the Store selling "Exclusive" stuff that it is getting quite boring. I think my comment was biased towards them, maybe.

I mean, they made an audacious commercial move, succeeded at it, and can (notice: CAN. They can still screw up their good move) improve the game faster with the income cash they are receiving. Besides, it isn't like this is the end of the world - one can just live well enough without buying that extra tab.

On a side note, if you want extra inv slot then isn't it better to just buy a char slot and make a mule? About 600 TP's and 2 inv tabs!

Or, as is usually the case, ~475TP (20% off sale) and 1-2 hours of faction farming = 4 Inventory tabs plus 1 Bank tab. Why pay twice that for 1/5th of the storage space?

In other words, they should have consulted the 30 int wizards of the community before doing that move :P

Why pay at all for extra bank space? Just make a f2p account. There's 160 slots for you right there, at zero cost.

This is disappointing. As a new player coming in with f2p, I often wondered at the many posts bashing Turbine. From my perspective, I saw a company committed to a steady stream of improvements and new content. I saw rational decision making when it came to the store. I saw responsiveness to community concerns. Now all I see is poor decision making and a commitment to short-term profits.

Those 4th and 5th bank tabs are something many have wanted for a long time. Turbine had an opportunity here to really make the community happy. Morale seems to be at the lowest point since I've joined (admittedly I hear it was pretty low while waiting for EU to come out) and it could use a boost. Instead we get kicked in the teeth.

Micropayments are supposed to work because of volume. Lots of people giving you a dollar means pretty soon you have a lot of dollars. If these were priced at 200TP, I would have picked up 7 today and been happy to have cashed in my 1400TP. Instead, I'm not touching this new "offer".

Bad for business. Bad for the community. I don't like it.

This is the kind of feedback that will get the best attention (even tho they won't pop in to say it). Less bashing, more alternative suggestions on what we will/won't pay for this feature.

Like most of the replies I've read, I also won't pay the current price for a 1-char set of slots. I can't say whether 200 TP would be a viable alternative, but something much lower than 995 would certainly make it at least tempting to grab a slot purchase for a few of my chars.

This will never be server/account wide because of the vast number of characters that people have per account these days. I know people with 30+ characters on their single account b/c they bought with TPs ... that would mean they would get that many more bank slots ...

It does make sense to have it be another House K favor point (need new house K favor quests) but also available in store ... for at least 1/4 of a new character slot, since as stated before you can get 4 slots there ...

I'm going to use the points I get from subscribing to purchase this for the most played character I have. It's like a reward system honoring those who've maintained subscriptions. I try to save those points just for things like this and apparently the wait was worth it.

I actually view this as a means of rewarding me for my subscription.
