Any way that lets us open on elite would be fine with me. DDO store, favor reward, whatever. I do kinda like the idea somebody had in another thread of being able to open on elite if you are a TR.

Yes! Please make 'open on hard' buyable in the DDO store!

Seeing as how opening the quests on Hard is one of the few VIP perks I really miss since going to Premium...

See, VIPs have way too few perks working in their favor now. I would genuinely hate to see one of the few perks that means a **** taken away from VIP-exclusivity. If you really want that perk - then upgrade to VIP. If that is too great a leap for you to take, then just find an opener - or take the time to run the quest on Normal first and repeat. As was said before, it's really not that hard. And since this is on the short-short list of things that I would consider to be an actual benefit to being VIP... it would be a poor and unwise decision to make this a Store bought option. I would view it as a sucker-punch to anyone who is staying VIP.

Why not a limited-use item? Much like the current Chime of Opening item, a bell or whatever that only had 5-10 uses and allowed a player to open on elite. 300tp or so.

To compensate VIPs, they need to give them something. Maybe have quests drop level-appropriate loot in chests. Instead of what we have now, Masterwork/+1-+2 garbage dropping in level 8 quests (and yes, that is the majority of what my Paladin gets in chests running content at her level. Makes it hard to want to play her, actually). So min level 8 stuff dropping in chests in level 8 quests, etc... but only for VIPs.

    Bumpity bump bump...

Best compromise solution I've heard so far. Part1 anyway. I think VIPs should get the current favor-unlockable stuff for free and get tomes or whatnot for those total favor levels instead....

I'm a VIP and I could care less what you F2P people buy with your TP's.

But where are the economics in all this? Why in the hell would you BUY opening a quest on elite? To get more TP's? I would think any F2P would be very spendthrifty in where they spend their points. And now, you just wasted points buying the ability to do the one thing that gets you free points - favor.

From that standpoint it makes little sense to me.

This isn't an economic issue for many of us. In our guild, we have the rule "no questing on normal" in order to keep the difficulty up. We like things harder. Anyway, I suppose we don't specifically want to open on elite, but we do want to be able to open on hard so a group of P2P non-VIPs can quest together in-guild.... So a bell-of-hardness or somesuch would be really nice.

    Default Yeah

Looks like its going to happen for free. Update 7 is supposed to include the ability for VIP's to open content on elite without running on hard first.
