weapons upgraded in the risian altar...

During the ice games, i added cold touch and frost damage to many weapons, and icy-burst to only a couple.
I upgraded weapons in the (min) level range 8-16 (i was 12 i think atm but bought and upgraded weapons for future use, too)
Now, i'm still using a lot of them, which includes my icy-burst weapons. There are lots of them however that i've stopped using and they just occupy bank space.
So, my question is, do you think i should sell them or should i keep them by all means, cause they are something unique?

List your weapons and people will give you a definitive response. Without knowing the exact weapon, the advice would be very general and not have any value to you.

Do you think you might use them in the future?

Goblinoid Bane? Reptilian Bane? Verbin Bane? Sell it.

Giant Bane? Undead bane? Construct Bane? keep it.

depends:

if you just upgraded vendor-trash weapons you just had availlable during the ice-games you most likely can try to sell em on ah.

if you have put in the time and thought to get good weapons upgraded

like

keen/impact of rightousness/pure good (for low level twinking)
or
have plain specials (paralyzers, smiters, banishers, vorpals, woe, wop) upgraded
or
xburst of greater banes

then you keep those.

all others are imo not worth keeping around...

+5 keen kukri of backstabbing(+1) +frost
+3 metalline longsword of shatter (+4?) +frost

of those i would only keep the paralyzing kukri. the others are subpar or worse (in my opinion). you might get some cash for the bow however. the other 2 are broker weapons (again imo).

Good:
- double damage (fire of pure good, holy of pg, elem/holy of bane, etc) + icy. Double burst of pg/greater bane would be nice damage wep even at high levels. Not tested yet, but how good would +2 holyburst khopesh of gt elf bane (+icy) work in VON3 epic?
- Metaline of pg + icy. Poormans MineralII. Keep until proper Min2, then use on lowbie alt.
- Keen of pg + icy. Nice lowbie twink.

I would probably never sell something like +X Shockburst/law/chaos of Greater elemental bane + Icyburst even if i'd have full set of shroud weapons.

Rest would be vendor junk.

/agree with the others, definitely keep the paralyzer, it's a nice wpn to use leveling up, the para effect is what matters on that one, not its damage

The +5 keen kukri w/+1 backstabbing is not terrible, but I bet if you have a slashing-spec char you'll have something better.

The longsword, once again it's not terrible, but again if you have a slashing-spec char you might have something better. If not, then sure I'd keep it around...as a metalline it has usefulness. I have an elf or two that might use it for a while.

The bow, honestly I'd probably vendor it, unless I had a bow-spec'ed char. If I wanted to bother, I might auction it but in all likelihood I'd probably vendor it. I prefer effects like cursespewing or para on bows but that's just me.

I was ready to post the rest of the weapons i upgraded, but i changed my mind...
I have a generally good understanding (imho) of which weapons are very good, which not so good, and which suck (though it's a little hard for me to compare two weapons that are close to one another and reach a verdict of which is better).
If i've bought some weapons that are not so good, it's because i bought them at a very good price, and if i upgraded them it's because i had plenty of recipes and motes available.
It's obvious to me that a very good weapon that was upgraded at the risian altar became even better, while a weapon that sucks became less sucky, but not great.

My question had to do more with the uniquness of the weapons upgraded at the risian altar and less with their worth (were they upgraded or not):

Your answers indicated to me that the answer to my question is "No, don't keep them by all means, even if they are something unique, keep only the best of them and sell the rest".
