    Default DDO Voice chat volume

Currently, voice chat on the audio tab is set from 0.00 to 1.00. I know sliders for voice for each party member might be a good long while, but in the meantime could we get the voice slider to go from 0.00 to 2.00? Or even 5.00?

I've been grouping with a few of my friends and their voices are so low on the mic, I'd have to turn off all music, sound effects, and dm text to hear them clearly, and frankly that would ruin the experience for me. It would be really nice if we could at least turn up ALL voice volumes 2 to 5 times louder than their current max. This way in a party of soft talkers we could hear them well, and in a party of loudmouths we can still turn the volume way down. Mixed groups would still be a problem, but that would need individual sliders to fix.

Obviously I'd like the above done if it would actually increase the maximum volume boost. Don't just change the number on the sliders

This is the problem. Balancing the guy who has his gain turned up to max with the guy who has his gain turned down low. Sometimes the latter actually has his gain all the way up.
I think just adding a higher threshold for this will give me a headache instead of solving the problem.
I don't think there will be a solution until we see individual sliders.

I have to pump up voice volume to the max and game sounds to the minimum to hear anyone. I would love to see the ability to boost in-game voice chat a bit higher. For me it isnt an issue with a few players, it's an issue with almost all players.

A way to right click on people's names in the party/raid window and have a way to adjust that players volume higher would be nice.

I've been in a few groups that I have people that are extremely loud, while others are extremely quiet.

Wish DDO In game chat had voice normalization like I used to code into my ventrilo.

Default Udjust mic gain on pc

I recently introduced a group of RL DnD buddies to the game and was having some mic/headset issues with them. We found that if you go into the settings on your computers' desktop and adjust the mic gain from there, you can actually lower the ddo mic gain down a bit from 1.0. I still have music and sound effects at a minimum and dm voice off completely. I don't think most people have adjusted the PC mic gain level to an appropraite level before they crank ddo mic gain to "11". Just a thouht, it helped us out. I still think individual sliders would be nice, as all headsets are not created equal.

I get the impression that its an issue with almost all players for everyone.

Barring individual sliders the OP suggestion would work, as anyone thats too loud can easily turn down their gain, whereas most of the people too soft are already at their max in all settings.

Add me to the list of players who have to do this. Voice volume at max. Other sounds at .04-.07

Giving a higher Voice Chat volume cap AND a higher Mic boost cap should help, as you'll be
able to ask the extremely quiet or loud players to adjust their Mic levels. As it stands right now,
even at Max, VC volume of some players is too low.

How loud other people are works obnoxiously for me. My one friend is extremely loud, as if she's in the room with me, yet my two other friends are extremely low and I have to shut off all the music/narrator/sfx sounds. Both of their options are the same (gain up to max, they're talking clearly, mic boost in windows is on, etc.), but for some reason the volumes are different.

The thing that makes me think it's the DDO client doing something incorrectly, is that those same friends who are low in DDO are clear and loud in other games.

Also, for some reason, I had to test about five different mics until I got one that was loud. The other four work fine in other games, but I was told I sounded extremely low when using them in DDO. Then, for some reason, the 5th mic worked. All were the same brand, too.

We do need an independent volume for Voice Chat - sometimes some idiots have their mic cranked up that kills the ears - and they refuse to turn it down - so I have no choice but to mute the entire voice channel - and that is not good.

ALSO: Can we have the ability to INDIVIDUALLY MUTE each party member? A tiny speaker icon on the PARTY panel - we click it to enable/mute any party member!!! PLEASE! /double signed!!

I have my mic gain turned all the way up, both in game and in Windows, plus I have the +10dB boost enabled. My voice volume is frequently still too low for some people to hear well. It would be nice if this were an option.

i think we all have these issues which is why it was so much easier when my buddies and i were all in same lvl range and we used vent but now due to rl we arent able to group with each other really i would love to have individual controls for each persons voice

I have the voice part set to 1.00 but the rest (DM, sound effects, music, etc.) set under 0.05 so that I can hear what people say. There is something wrong with the game's audio setting. How does that make sense? Why do I have to put one to an extreme and the others to the lower extremes to have some sort of balanced audio?

Sounds like you'd like the suggestion I was going to post:
When someone talks over voice chat, automatically fade out the other sources of sound (music, sound effects, etc.). This way, people can set the other sources of sound at the volume they prefer, without having to worry about them burying voice chat.

Since everyone's preferences might vary, give us a slider that ranges from 0.00 to 1.00 which determines the percentage by which the other sources of sound are decreased when someone talks (1.00 would be completely and 0.00 would be not at all).
