Default What would i gain for TRing as sorc?

Currently i have a warforged wizard.

I was planning on TRing him as a WF sorcerer. I am trying to gauge what would be the differences between a Wizard and a TR Sorcerer.

Feat plan is ( in no particular order):

    Toughness
    Spell Penetration
    Maximize
    Empower
    Quicken
    Heighten
    Extend

    SP:

I will gain 350 SP from items as a sorcerer. Then another ~500 (?) from being a sorcerer. Should put me a bit over 3k sp, as i have 2200 right now. I will loose ~140 sp from Mental Toughness + a couple enhancements though. Still, would be borderline 3k sp.

    DC:

I will have wizard past life feat, giving me +1 native to DC. That would make my base DC equal to that of my wizard ( 18 base INT vs 16 base CHA +1 DC ). I will loose 2 DC from Wiz capstone.

    Spell Pen.

Loose 1 from Imp. Spell pen feat.

    Spells:

6th circle spells will be a mess. Currently i carry 5 on my wiz and i could use 1 or 2 more slots. 2nd circle will also trouble me a bit. Besides that, i do not think there is any other spell circle where i will have trouble dealing with less spells.

    Anything else that im missing?

The sorcerer will be able to (usually) cast much faster.

Wizard capstone is +2 Int, so that your DC only goes down by one. Wizard past life also provides some spell pen, so you should break even when taking only one spell pen feat.

I'm about to TR my wizard into a sorcerer too. Other than the tight spell selection at some levels the only thing that makes me a little nervous is the possibility that new wizard PrE's could be much more my style than the (assumed) dps focused Sorcerer PrE's. Not that any new PrE's are expected any time soon from what I understand.

Technically it's a wash, because INT yugoloth potions are rarely, if ever, consumed due to the lowered fortification. Charisma potions can be used with near impunity. Due to this factor the DC comment is a wash.

However, you will lose 1 DC regardless, because a warforged sorcerer can only start with 16 charisma, and as a wizard he can start with 18 int.

Your DC statement is true (mostly), but not for the reason given.

I got a WF sorc, past life wizard (15 atm).

    I took/plan to take :

    Past life
    toughness
    maximize
    empower
    extend
    SF : evocation
    GSF : evocation

I dropped heighten and spell pen. I wend full evocation therefore won't be using spell pen spells. As for insta kills, lets face it, it's really only worth it when you get necro focus. Insta kills alone also justify taking spell pen feats.

So seeing how restricted I was on feat selection, I decided against going the insta kill path. This allows me to max enhancements in both cold/fire and acid/lightning, racial toughness and not worry to worry about the spell pen line.

Maybe once I hit 20 I could try something else, like 2x necro focus and 1 spell pen feat and also spell pen enhancement line.

But the nuking thing is working great so far ^^

Also, on a WF sorc, what's the highest cha you can get?

Base 16, no racials. But then, i dont think you can get racials on any other race either.

So its +2 difference from drow to WF. But theres reconstruct...
