    Question GR+1 Cleric to FvS

I am currently a lvl 20, 28pt build Dwarf Cleric and love playing a healer. I have made some mistakes in my build and want to fix them. Marten. While I am at it I feel that I would be an even better healer if I moved to FvS. I need advice not only on the build, but the process I have planned to see if I am mistaken in my understanding of how the Reincarnation system works.

I want to accomplish several things; 1) GR+1 to a 32pt build 2) become a FvS 3) later TR to a FvS Human for the bonus feat and the 34pt build (and this is where I am needing advice) A) since I was a FvS when I TR my past life bonus will be for the FvS and not the Cleric, B) the tomes I have already used will automatically return at lvl 7, correct?

When I GR+1 I intend to play the FvS as a primary healer with support offensive casting and almost no melee. Basically I am trading in some spell slots for more SP and the free SovH-unlimited heal. Since GR+1 does not let you change race or alignment I am stuck with what I currently have. Below is that FvS.

    Constitution 26
    Intelligence 10
    Wisdom 25
    Charisma 35 (with 3 Exceptional)
    SP ~ 3000
    HP ~ 400

Ok, so tell me if I am right or wrong, if there is another way, better way or any other constructive advice about moving from a Cleric to a FvS. Once I am ready to TR to a Human I will post that for follow-up advice.

I thank you in advance for you help.

If you are only looking to get to 20, and not do end game epics and raids too much...

I suggest making CHA a 11 or 12 or so, and bumping STR to add the ability to do some decent melee. CHA only needs to be a 19 with item + enhancements to cast lev 9 spells. You wont gain too many SP with all that CHA over a 19 CHA anyway. ( I would also suggest this on your 36 point guy as well)

If you are planning on grouping mostly and or planning to do epics and raids, focus on melee, If you want to solo a lot, focus on evocation and BB everything to death. Fastest way to 20 with a FvS, IMO. For epics and end game raids, tho, I would choose a different route.

Doesn't GR +1 only allow you to change one level of your class?

Yes. He would need to greater reincarnate 11 times to have a FvS character icon (and the FvS past life when he true reincarnates). 20 times to change completely from cleric to FvS.

And no, your tomes will not kick back in. Tomes are wiped out when you true reincarnate. Have to eat new tomes.

Yup. And the OP would have to Lesser +1 or +3 until he had 11 lvls of FVS to actually be considered an "FVS" for TR purposes.

My advice is to just TR to a 34 point FVS. No GR or Lesser Hearts nedded....

Yeah that's what I would recommend too. The FVS past life feat isn't game breaking enough to go through that many +1 or +3 reincarnations just to get it

Thanks everyone for the input, you've help me avoid a painful mistake.

To Mellkor, yes I do end game questing already with a "gimped" cleric (solo healed the last two Shroud fights after the other cleric died then recalled... yes I had to use 10 pots but we pulled it off) I do want to do epic but am not in a guild that does that atm and have been avoiding pug-epic in favor of improving my current items and friends list. However, I would ask this: if my intent is to replace the need to have a cleric for epic quests/raids and frankly more comfortable standing back and healing (not attacking with spells in these cases) would you still suggest STR over CHA? Seems that each CHA aprox-equals one cast of Heal. Is epic so rough that it is better to rely on scrolls + melee from me vs pure SP power? I certainly see your point, I guess it is just a question of my play-style and if the people I group with know me and it. I could be the fist FvS to get yelled at for not charging in or I could cause a new trend when FvS are invited to groups, "do you melee?"

Again, thanks to everyone for the feedback, I have about a week before I plan on doing anything so any other feed back is welcome.

If you literally want to do nothing except epic/raid healboting, then yes you would really only need CHA and CON for the little extra SP and the HP.

Although that is generally a bad idea. I know, I tried it for a while and got bored to tears. I'm about to TR into a FvS again, but this time I'm going melee/buffing/healing, no offensive casting. I will be able to heal and game & epic content just as well as I can now.

Trust me, the only thing you lose is 100-200 SP from not having 36 CHA. And you gain melee damage and survivability.
