Default Is the Pal the way to go for a duo?

I have access to 32 point builds, drow and FvS. For a duo with a friend, who is playing a rogue, I decided to make a FvS tank/healer type of character. We are both level 2, almost 3. The problem is, although the healing is great to keep us going, my DPS and tanking is not so great and we are going through quests on Hard pretty slowly.

Is a paladin the way to go? If it is, can you provide me with some guidance for the first 10 levels?

paladins are much better DPS, but they're veryyyy limited heals. up until level 10 you'll only have 2 big heals per rest. Basically, the really good quests in this game 'require' a group if you want to get the most exp. if you roll pally with his rogue, you'll have lots of DPS but you won't be able to do a thing until you get a cleric or fvs healing you.

Basically, i think it revolves around if you are both paid or if you're free to play. paid quests are generally big, long, and take groups (but give insane xp and loot). if your a FVS and he's rogue, you can plop an 'LFM DPS' down and have a group ready to roll in minutes for elite. in the duo i play in (barb/pally), we have to wait sometime 30-45 minutes to get the correct group makeup to succeed on a tough elite paid quest. with rogue/fvs, that would be a good setup for groups.

My recommendation (and this is definatly my opinion only) is that you should keep the fvs and have your friend do a figher/rogue multi instead of pure rogue. You'll have more DPS and will be able to duo better, but also keep that high groupability. Just make sure your rogue pal can disarm traps well.

FvS don't make good tanks, IMHO. A THF WF LoB or TWF anything else make good DPS-y caster types, though. Focus on taking out mobs quickly then heal between fights would be my suggestion.

You should try a melee focused warforged fvs, that will be the ideal build for your situation, good dps (excellent at low levels) good hp's some dr for tanking, excellent healing for both of you.
