    Default I love monks!

Guys I've had a change of heart. I finally found a way to stop hating and learn to love the monk:

    Screenshot number 3000.

After bards, monks are the best way to up my DPS Uber +10% fire damage punch for the win! Add in a Barbarian and Paladin gearred up with eSoS and Redscale, and we are walking walls of fire!

Etenral fire on a eSoS is up to 80 flame burst per swing, just on the burst portion! (4d10 main burst and 4d10 glancing burst) Add the 2d6 fire dmg.. And monks can add upwards of 8 damage per swing, thats like a bard buff that stacks!

Ofcourse dark monks only. Light monks? reroll

Also I figured I'd redeem myself, getting outkilled by a monk was rather embarassing:

677+23+4+15+1? What a gimp. I can hit harder than that!... every 15 seconds..

Also, I believe you are mistaken. You do not love Monks. You love Eurytrikos.

If you think you're benefiting from that, think of all our burst effects, handwraps and ki strikes when using those debuffs when considering our speed. Add in your damage, the firewall, and my monk is outdpsing your fat dwarf ass

Ps: see what my monk has to deal with? Axer and Galakilz with Epic SoS and Red Scale? Cheaters...

Would of been 1 more damage if your silly buff would round up. 1 + 10%.. still 1. Bah!
Also keep in mind the glancing blow for that hit isn't shown, it would of been around another 60-100 damage.

But lets not get too angry.. This thread is about monk love, not hate.

Tsk tsk tsk. Here you go again with your "I love any class that buffs me!" attitude.

According to your philosophy, wouldn't it be better just to have another axer in the group, since, assuming a 10 man party with 1 clr, 1 bard, 10 axers, another axer would probably deal more DPS than the 10%+ fire damage the monk could convey?

Monks are a fine class, I don't see why it took you so long to realize that! (even if your weird Shade-logic had to stumble around a bit before getting here!)

I wonder how much damage a 12 man party would be setup like this: 1 Cleric, 10 Sorcs, 1 Monk for debuff.... 1 Round von6?

Scratch the cleric, make them all WF. Have monk buff and hide. Still, I don't think so, if only because of the cooldowns.

PS You measure the stuff in rounds? To me there's not much of a distinction, so we just talk in minutes in DARPA. Well... technically I was in a one rounder. Velah somehow turned around and didn't breathe fire!

Technically eurytrikos has never buffed me despite my constant requests.

I like his debuff. It's completely different.

However I don't disagree with your statement, it is 100% accurate. Except maybe light monks buffs, but light over dark isn't a class, it's a mistake.

    Fire Debuffs =
More damage from Monk Fire Ki Strikes and flaming burst wraps
    Crit Firewall +10% a tick
    Axer Incineration Greensteal Axe

All that for 30 seconds is better than 500 damage. It's better for the whole group in a dungeon full of undead. Not just Axer

I'd just like to take the time to thank Shade for pointing out that monks aren't useless in epic content. That extra 1 damage made a difference!

    Way to go guys!

Bah, got within 10 of the real Axer in The Tide Turns epic today. Need to get me some better gear and close the gap a bit. I'm gonna make him quit some day!

No doubt on the better gear. Give us epic handwraps! Update 5, please?

Monks aren't that high on the gear list apparently, we even get a bit of neglect from the new content when making the bracers epic. And no, adding mediochre low to mid level named wraps at end game doesn't mean we're high on the item list.
