Default Advice Need on WF fvs build

After playing my 18/2 Cleric Monk for a few months I have *almost* decided to shelf her and only use her to heal for guildies occasionally. There are a few reasons:

Low SP - Ends up burning through scrolls and pots like a drunken kobold.

Feat intensive - Finesse based twf is very nice for the ac involved, she hits 60+ without any fantastic ac gear, three feats however is a sucker punch. (No heighten?!)

Sucky BB - Low dcs due to the lack of heighten.

So my next attempt at a divine with modest melee capabilities is this:

The idea is to have good dps with SOS or Min II as well as having a pretty mean bladebarrier, makes up for lack of armor class with dr and pretty high hp (haven't done enhancements).

Should also have pretty excellent self heals (grab some healing amp from dt or levik's) and pretty frackin good soloability (not the best, don't plan on soloing VOD anytime soon.)

Your critique and suggestions would be greatly appreaciated .

    Cheers!

You're gonna have a lot of issues with casting spells in the beginning with only 8 starting CHA. Are you just wanting the WIS for Blade Barrier? If that's the case I'd say to dump WIS (Blade Barrier still works pretty well on my 6 base WIS WF FvS) to raise the CHA up to 12 to make casting easier (and leave you more defended against being Disjunctioned). I also think you should train Balance some... Nothing sucks more when soloing than to be hit by a single Trip attack which knocks you over and then the mobs pile on the hurt while you can't heal yourself.

Barring that, I'd take Toughness at 3 instead of 15 (you won't have the SP to keep Maximize on really, and you'll have Empower at this point anyway), and Heighten at 18 instead of 6 (not much to Heighten at level 6 anyway).

Thanks for pointing out the feat timing silliness, kind of rushed through the chargen.

My issue is with dumping wisdom is again the experiences I have had with my cleric, with 36 wis she just cannot reliably land those BBs in amrath... Depresses me really.

The issue with the low starting cha is a valid point, but how often do you actually get disjuncted? (spelling massacre?). As far as casting at low levels I have plenty of bta +cha items that I think should eliminate casting issues when leveling when coupled with a +1 then a +2 cha tome.

Thx for the quick reply and input.

In that case, beat them down with a greatsword.

I'd be very wary of trying trying to get 16 WIS on a Warforged though, since it costs you 16 points and only really helps out the Blade Barrier. I'm very much a skill point junkie (UMD, Jump, Balance, Concentration and a point in Tumble on my WF, though mine's healing/melee and only BBs when the situation calls for it).

My other Favoured Soul is a Human that maxxed WIS (since no -2 racial and +1 from Human Adaptability), and while the BBs are better on her, the BBs on my Warforged aren't that far behind and the melee is a lot better.

I haven't been a lot, but it's always at the worst possible time.

    No problem.

The thing is, if you want max dc, warforged is not the best race, and depending on which content you plan to play at end game, even max dc wont be enough...
So, maybe you end leveling to 20, and realize that after all your changes, your bb keep being saved, and you spent a lot of build points, ability raises and a feat for not much gain.
On my wfg fvs i went:
    18 str
    8 dex
    16 con
13 int (jump balance umd and conc)
    6 wis
    11 cha

But of course, it plays pretty different to the fvs you have on mind.

WF is not the race you pick if you want max divine DC; human is. A WF FvS is best suited to a more melee-oriented build, IMHO. I would drop WIS to 12 or 14 to boost CON & CHA.

i basically agree with the advice given above. It's really tough to make a FvS that can both offensive cast at the end game as well as melee. Even more so on a WF which takes a racial -2 to wisdom and charisma. Human is probably the way to do if you really want to focus on spell DCs, and WF or Elf for melee based builds (depending if you want to go THF or TWF).
