    Talking New Sorc Build Help.

Hey, I am new to this game and I kind of want to know how to hit hard as a sorc.

I got to level 3 in a day but i think i might have messed up my character.

So.. what i would like to know is:

In the beggining you have to pick a race.. witch one shall i pick?

Then you click customize as i was told by a peer. Becuase they start you out with bad stats.

So just tell me exactly how many i should put and where.

Then tell me from levels 1 - 20 Witch spells i should pick. And Armor isnt an issue, i will eventually learn.

If you can do this, your amazing, and i will be eternally grateful. Thanks!

Actually if you want to be a caster that can hit hard, maybe you should consider a WF wizzie...you get more freedom with switching out spells, can be self healing and I've seen a lot of them doing major damage with two-handed weapons, sorcs are really better at either dps nuker damage or as insta-killers, I have seen one or two half barb half sorc builds that do some damage, but I wouldn't suggest that kind of multiclassing until you are really familiar with the game and what the trade-offs are. You also might try logging on and looking at high lvl lfms, especially epic runs and then looking up any casters listed in the party on myddo to get ideas about stats and race. Good luck

Lol, Can't tell you how many toons I've made and re-rolled in 3 years, it's all part of the experience , elves do make good rangers and I've seen a lot of elf casters too, but you mentioned in your OP that you wanted to hit hard so that made me think of the Wraforged wizzies that I've seen. Another good hitter would be a dwarf, but I've only seen a couple of dwarf casters, might be interesting...just make sure you have a good strength stat for hitting with either WF or dwarf...another option if you wanted to stay with an elf is to do a dex build and get weapon finesse as a feat, so that your hits base off of your dex not your strength, that can be a good way to get a high AC as well.

    Go WF...

Max your CHA, and your CON. Bump a couple of points into STR.

Lo, ahhh kk...then you probably want to go with a nuker build, max your cha, fairly high con, take enhancements to your fire/ice damage and crit, and subtle casting to help you with the agro, cause there's gonna be a bunch, carry dual scepters/maces for fire lore and cumbustion, spell penetration...feats extend, maximize and empower, mental toughness for sp, toughness for extra health if you can...if you're playing an elf maybe take the enhancement to reduce arcane failure and wear twilight armor rather than robes...A few spells include burning hands (swap out later for a buff, maybe tumble) web, haste, firewall, solid fog or acid, firewall, polar ray, scorching ray, jump, blur, displace, (sorry these aren't in order), resist energy, stoneskin spell or wands, shield, at least one instakill like finger, energy drain, otto's irrisistable dance, mass hold monster...make sure you have a fort item on and upgrade it as you go through, and you can look foward to many good hits to come ,

This is kinda basic info, one thing to know is that there are as many build types out there as there are stars in the sky, and always remember that equipment can be very important and that it's not just the build, it's the way you play it, practice alot, don't try to level too fast, solo stuff to learn your own capabilities and what works best for you, and understand ahead of time that you probably will have to shell out some gold to swap spells now and then
