    Default Help a newb out?

I've played around with the monk class for a bit not getting very high at all. I'm not planning on rolling up a monk, only a monk splash.

    My questions are:
#1 how much faster does the first storm stance make you hit?
#2 does dual wielding Kama's in wind stance speed stack with tempest 10% faster speed? so that's like what 5% faster?

If it is only 5% faster then here's how much faster I will be able to get to my knowledge

    10% tempest
    5%(?) wind stance
    15% fighter haste boost
15%haste boost (I think haste is 15% to lazy to check)
= 45% faster then normal for short time.

How much faster does a 20th level monk in max storm stance hit? by the way I plan on 1 fighter 18 ranger 1 monk. this is the build I like and will continue to play.

Wind stance is 2.5% faster than haste per teir. Max hasted Wind Stance monk is 10% faster than hasted without stance. Tempest does not stack with Wind Stance.

1 Level of monk and tempest will be no different than just tempest speed.

Tempest is a Competence bonus, whereas Wind is comprised of Enhancement and Insight bonuses. So why would Wind + Tempest not stack? Is it because even though unarmed is affected by TWF is it not really TWF per Tempest?

Bah you're right, had a brainfart. Tempest does stack with wind stance for kamas. But not for handwraps. Handwraps are not considered 2 weapons for tempest but they are for TWF.

To the OP: Keep in mind that with your planned build, you won't be able to use monk stances with the weapons you would likely be using. You need to use monk weapons to use the stances, kamas, quarterstaves and handwraps. Of those 3, only kamas would work with tempest and wind stance will only add 2.5% speed. Pointless to even consider stances on that build (though there isn't anything wrong with the build)

Well for my build I would be using kama's I though the wind stance would be faster, well didn't think, I was told guess I got some bad advice lol.

Also wind stance gives me +2 dex so high saves/ac but -2 con but with me being halfling instead of elf it makes no big difference for having -2 con imo. I don't know I might still try this build...

With only 1 level of monk you would get 2.5% speed increase. I would highly suggest NOT using kamas with a build like that, you would gimp your damage considerably as opposed to something like rapiers.
