Mr. Khyber 2010!

Interesting...most of my text has been removed.. so I'm putting it all back!


As some of you may know, I hosted the Mr. Riedra 2007. My friend Mr. Fretgoop winner of Mr. Riedra 2007 held the Mr. Khyber 2008. I am trying to keep this tradition alive. So this year I will be hosting the Mr. Khyber 2010!

If you would like to participate in this event, please feel free to place your name in the pot.

If you are unfamiliar with the rules of Mr. Khyber they are as follows:

1.] Mr. Khyber consists of 3 rounds during which 3 contestants will be eliminated for each round.

2.] Round 1 consists of:
Fashion show - showing off their best looking armor, doing the "cat walk" in front of the people in the stormreach harbor.

3.] Round 2 consists of:
Talent show - showing off their abilities. This one was a funny one...we had people bringing out their weapons and swinging them around cleaving, etc.. or even people who had high tumble that were able to do back flips, front flips.. it is silly to watch, but it just adds a little fun for people.

4.] Round 3 consists of:
Interview - asking a series of questions. The contestants were able to give their own honest answers in a public chat in order for the people to judge them and choose their next Mr. Khyber. Now that there is a way to get your own channel in-game there will be a designated chat for everyone to enter so that they will not disturb the game play of others who are not attending this event.

5.] Tie-breaker (If there is a tie) consists of:
Fist fight - no item fight - meaning no items, no armor, no clickies, no magic. Just bare stats against bare stats. (And yes, judges will/can MyDDO you) Whoever wins this claims the throne

There was no Mr. Khyber 2009 contest.

There was a Mr. Khyber 2008 however. Goolan was 3rd, Arkat (yes that was me) was 2nd, and some other guy who I haven't seen in a long time was 1st. That guy also still has the hat that was passed down by Fretgoop when he won Mr Riedra 2007.

I'd like to sign up again and give it another go - Arkat the WF Monk.

I vaguely recall something about not being able to locate it.

I'll ask around in the guild but we haven't seen fretgoop/ghom in a month or two.

I have the hat. Gwyar was Mr. Khyber 2008. I didn't really play much in 2009, and worked a bit behind the scenes to see if someone would take over the reins, but no go. I'm on a little more in 2010, but not enough to run an event, so I am quite glad to see this come back, and when you get ready, just let me know - I'll make sure the hat get there, and will put up some prizes as well.

Awesome, very glad we could locate 2008's winner and congrats by the way. I really want this to be a tradition that is held every year (while this game still lasts). Especially since the hat was given by the one and only +Sir Lawrence!

Did any GM's show up to the 2008 event? IF any of the GM's have the time to show up this year that would be great as well. I will work out a date and time to host the event, seeing I can't hold it in October like the past events because I'm due to have this baby ^_^!

Haha! There are plenty of girls who play this game, they're just hiding because they don't want desparate men hitting on them! That always gets annoying as hell when you've got some dude breathing into his mic just because he found out you're a chick...we have the right to game without being hit on! You just end up on squelch list

This is such an odd competition... I don't quite get it... er just appearances? or popularity?

Is there any sort of objectivity in this? Do they have to do a leather underwear parade (in lieu of swimsuits) and show how charitable they are (so, raise funds for newbies or something? In which case I will nominate whatever character Harncw would like to bring ) oh... and answer questions? (er, there's no marriage in this game fortunately...)
