Horrible luck getting bracers

So I pull my sigils right away. 2 on the first try and 1 on the 2nd try. Too bad I ransacked the chest and still no bracers. Check the AH and nothing. Anyone else having this much trouble or am I just the exception?

There were a few un-upgraded bracers on the Thelanis server Auction House not too long ago.

Personally, I just bought mine early when I saw it in the AH. Picked one up and put it back up in the AH. But that's just me and that's really only 2 runs. So it's not really conclusive results or anything.

I got two of the new docents in the two chests I got at the end. I got my bracers as the end reward, then bought the only one on the auction house for my alt.

I got it from end reward table.
But it took me a long time to get that ****ing goat sigil. I hadn't get one until I ransacked the chest.

I have the opposite problem...
I can pull the items pretty well - but the sigils seem allergic to my presence.

I had no problem at all with goat and dragon sigils. In atleast 19 runs I've pulled one lion sigil and it was in the gold key chest on the boat. Still need a second one for my alt.

Sorry for the n00b question but....what does it mean to "ransack" a chest? I've seen that terminology in a couple threads but have no idea what it means.

And FWIW, so far no bracers for me either.

Ransack is a mechanic which reduces the loot level and then completely eliminates the loot from any given chest after you've opened it a certain number of times. Eventualy you'll get the message that you have "ransacked this chest often," and then finally that "you have stripped everything of value from this chest." Each chest is on a timer which resets 7 days after you first open it.

I picked up the bracers for my final reward of the first chain completion, and since then I have not seen a hint of a sigil. The elite runs are beginning to get a bit irritating, actually. I'm starting to rethink my original plan to get a pair of upgraded bracers for each of my monk splash alts.

I got mine by ransacking Tide on Elite. Dry for many runs getting tons of the other stuff, then two dropped in one run.

I have the seal too...

And in my efforts to get the Jidz Epic I've gotten everything for teh **** Docent, which I don't need

Hike up to the top of the Spire (thar be an earthen ramp up on the east side), get to the top, where you had to unleash the fire elemental on the Tides quest, the widget is now an altar.

Picked up bracers as end reward. Did the other three quests for sigils on normal several times.

Bazaar: got it on third run
Black Loch: third run also
Storming the Beaches: second run

I did one complete run in a group of five (on normal) sigil drop rate was 2/5 for Bazaar and Beaches, 0/5 for Black Loch.
Last Quest we were only 3 guys left, drop rate was 1/3 (one filthy kuriki).

Upgraded on top of Deneith tower (there is a walkway on the right side of the tower, which leads to the top of the tower, where the crafting device is)

Now, follow up question: would a chest being at the ransacked stage make it more likely to get a sigil? In other words, the fact that the "regular" treasure is no longer spawning in it, would that make it more likely for one of the special items (either named or a sigil) to be there?

No, it means you will get nothing in the chest... at all.

So that would mean that if you have run a particular instance so many times that you get to the ransacked stage, and STILL you have not gotten the sigil to drop, you are basically screwed and have no hope of getting that sigil for at least a full week?

That's precisely what it means.

However, any of the sigils can drop from the Spies in the House quest, and you could always bring friends along to pull them for you.

Basically, yes, though the week long timer starts when you open the chest for the first time, so if you opened the chest for the first time on a Friday and then got a ransack message on Sunday you'd have to wait until Friday not Sunday to be off rasack for that chest.

Just incase you didn't know:

If you do the final quest (turning tides) on harder difficulties more chests spawn. Each of these can contain the named items, even the epic chest.

Not sure if they all share the same ransack timer though or what, so might not be too helpful
