Do either of you have Shaw.ca as your ISP or are in Canada?

We're tracking what appears to be an internet backbone issue affecting users there and www.shaw.ca isn't loading either currently.

end results of a tracert shaw.ca I just ran:

    Trace complete.
Not sure if its specific to one ISP or general area backbone issues but looks like connectivity in the North is having issues.

I talked to shaw ISP techs and they had no issues connecting to turbines servers. And some of us can connect for a short while, then D/C when we change instance, etc. It also seems to block our connection to the chat servers when we CAN login.

Its something to do with the hotfix and I hope they look into it rather than keep assuming its to do with 'us'

Tracert works fine(first timeout is the first ping to 0.0.0.0 and it will always timeout since it can't respond)

Other players are able to log in currently and maintain connection without issue, also Lotro (Edit: and AC) which did not have any downtime for updates today has players on Shaw also reporting this:

    http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.php?t=326423
One player noted this in the Lotro thread:

    Default Shaw

Just got off the phone on a 1 hour call to Shaw. It is an internal Shaw problem, there is a switch that went down that affect a very small amount of the internet, happens to be the one that connects to DDO. they are changing to a different switch but it is taking time for all traffic to be routed thru that switch. The techs said it should be completed by the latest at 8pm PST.

meh I don't think there are enough of us with the problem to warrant any action on either party. - For shaw the 'rest' of the internet works fine, and for DDO the Canadian population playing is too small to matter. Maybe it will be fixed next week. LOL

Edit: wow someone actually admitted was a problem. I was on the phone with them for an hour and it was 'not our problem'

Default Same issue for 5 hrs now!

I tried to get on during a break at noon and had "The underlying connection was closed: unable to connect to the remote server". It is now 5pm and the same error is still occuring. Can we get confirmation that this will be fixed - or do I need to call them? I live in in British Columbia, Canada and use Shaw high speed.

    Thanks,
    D

the more people call, the more likely they will repair the issue to stop us harassing them. So give them a call, like most of us have, and tell them about the issue(Even if they 'already know') - once they realize the number of customers who have the problem, chances are they will step up and fix it.
