I've been farming gianthold relics with all my characters so I can participate in the Gianthold raid. Some of my online friends even chipped in some relics so we can do the raid together. I read on the ddo wiki that you need to turn them in with Scrag. When I wanted to turn them in, he kept telling me to speak with the craftsmen. When I did that, I got three crummy items who are bound to character. And when I went back to Scrag, he tells me I need to give 20 more relics of each! The worst part is that when I send a mail to customer's service, they simply tell me "though luck", " we can't do anything about it". I am a vip, have purchased extra ddo points, helped create a guild, but this kinda attitude really annoys me. I've talked about this issue on general chat and it turns out that several more people have had this problem. Turbine apparently wants its paying customers to farm instead of having fun quests.
Considering all the downtime, the lagging, and the fact I can't even log in with one my characters at his very moment (I suspect a House kundarak issue), makes me believe that turbine cares nothing about vip. Premium customers are probably more profitable in the p2p/f2p environment...
