Default change arcane archer force imbue back to be usable with non-bow weapons

Not asking for slayer or fear or any of the other fancy new toys

Just the plain jane 1d6 force and ghost touch imbue, like how it worked before the changes. I don't think anyone can reasonably claim this would be overpowered.

Let me throw my hammer at the slimes and see pretty purple numbers again.

Deepwood sniper should be coming out relatively soon as well as a "polish pass" of ranged combat, I don't think 1d6 matters much especially if you're using it for a throwing hammer.

It doesn't matter at all, any non-bow user will suck endgame due to a lack of scaling damage(even repeater). So if it doesn't matter why not put it back?

Do NOT make this change. Arcane ARCHER should only have affect on ARCHER abilities. ARCHER abilities deal with BOWS. Modify maybe to include crossbows, but do NOT allow throwing weapons as that has nothing to do with being an ARCHER

Sorry if you think that bow users are over powering, you have not spent much time playing one. Ranged combat for rangers has been the most lacking since Launch in 2006; only to be out done by the lack of combat ability to keep up by monks.

edited: to please the OP that random capitalization does nothing. though wouldn't call it random. random would be like every other word.

RANDOM capitalization DOESN'T make YOUR point ANY better.

So what if archer is in the title? This is an extended fantasy definition. And in the fantasy world different races specialize in different hings. Why can't there be a drow shuriken arcane archer or a halfling dagger throwing arcane archer or a dwarf axe tossing arcane archer?

There is no reason other than the game devs arbitrarily flipped a switch that denied imbues to non-bow weapons. If you remember before the AA "enhancement" change a crossbow or throwing weapon or sun flask could get the 1d6 + ghosttouch imbue.

I'm not asking for all of the imbues to work on non-bows, just the simple, low level, 1d6 force + ghosttouch that worked before the change. It just adds variety and flavor to the game as opposed to the cookie cutter specialization high end content encourages.

your an arcane magic user, you can use magic on the arrows that you are firing. why shouldn't you be able to use the same magic on a thrown weapon? its the same as an arrow, just a different shape and a different way of firing it.

or maybe just add a spell that lets your arrows do bludgeoning damage instead of piercing. we have weapons that do that, why not arrows?

And what does those have to be with arcane archer? nothing. those are ranged weapons, yes, but they are not treated the same as bow and arrow.

you assumed this was working as intended. other feel that this is fixing a bug.

Does not work in 3.5 PnP, why should it work here?
