Default is it a good idea? 2

hello again. yesterday i was thinking about making my lv 12 fvs become a ranger. i got the response that its not a good idea. (i have still not lv up yet) today i thinking about getting my fvs get 1 lv monk. is that a bether idea? i mean you get a lot of new moves. and i have heard that your ataks get stronger. so is this a god idea or even worse than my ranger idea?

    what race is your FVS?

    What stats do you have?

Are you a melee FVS or a Caster?

If you ARE not a Warforged FVS and you are melee...taking 2 levels of MNK for WIS bonus to AC and Evasion is not a bad idea. taking RNG is most likely a bad idea. If you have not planned on multiclassing...I kinda feel this is a bad idea.

    Conclusion...

More than likely you SHOULD stay pure and not risk "gimping your toon".

I would stay FVS then since you are a caster. The DEX being lower, means you do not qualify for TWF.

Also for future reference...your Stats are your Base stats without gear/enhancements.

Multiclassing without a plan is generally discouraged.

For good reasons, though it is more fixable now then it ever has been before.

Better to looks through the forums for a build you like and start a second character following that build. Or ask for a build that would do what you want in one of the forums you can post in.
    Occasionally playing on Cannith

    Llyren, Kelda and some others.

Generally speaking, if you did not plan out the multiclass and what your character will look like at level 20, before creating it, it is not a good idea to multiclass.

If you do not know what you will gain or lose by multiclassing, it is not a good idea to multiclass.

I agree with Lleran, don't gimp yourself at 12, keep levelling this character pure. Once you get it to 20, and figure out its strengths and weaknesses, you're in a better place to figure out what you want out of a new character.

    3 level 9 spells...more SP...better spell Pen.

Captsone which is probably one of the best capstones out there.

    2 CHR DR 10/whichever religion.

Healing Word or the searing light for free.
