    Default Floating Numbers upgrade.

    Hey guys.

I love the new floating numbers over the character's head when you damage, take damage, or gain/ lose a buff. This was a great addition to the game. I only have one problem with this. It seems a little cluttered to have all the stats and numbers roll off on one reel. I suggest 3 reels instead.

One reel would stream off to the left with all the damage taken. One reel would then stream off to the right with all damage given. The last reel would stream over your head with all buffs being placed on, or being stripped from you.

The only issue I really see with this, is that there will be lots of numbers on the screen. There should be some options to reduce the text size, or turn the text off in general. Also, there should be a way to turn off animation buffs (like bulls strength giving the appearance of a bull animate from you). I notice there is quite a bit of lag when you're in shroud and you cast a mass protect on the party. This should fix some of the issue. You might also consider giving an option to remove some consumable buffs from the reeling text (like stoneskin, protection from elements, etc).

I think this will give ease to reading all the combat text flowing while you're beating up your favorite monster :P

The one problem with your suggestion is that when I get damaged or do damage I want to see the differences. I want to know that I am taking physical damage with say cold/fire/force etc. I want to know I'm being hit with a bane weapon or with scorching ray.

Same for when I'm doing damage, I want to know my physical damage is going through as well as my holy. I want to know that the acid damage is being reduced to a mob and that it takes double fire damage.

(Ok I know all of this off by heart by now but new players need to see this as it helps them learn what is effective as well as tell them what is hurting them)

So while seperating them into seperate columns is a reasonable request, consider that when I hit a monster I can have up to 6 numbers (and more) and damage type symbols next to them, per hit.

Either the text would be smaller to the point of being elligible or the entire screen would become a wall of numbers. As it is right now is quite good. Damage you do vs damage done to you has different text colours and buffs get the symbol.
Don't let common sense stop you...

I would like the option of seeing just one total number of the dmg per hit or atleast added to the end of the number sequence
    like:

    368+14+2+4+16+14 = 418

With the option of just showing 418.

While I am loving the numbers strung out on my sorc when thigs are held, I much prefer to have one total. I know where the numbers come from. I really don't need to see the chain of events getting it there honestly.

I never said anything about having a total being spewed out. I would like to see the numbers being put on different reels so it's easier to read incoming and outgoing damage. Although, a way to add all the numbers together would be pretty awesome.

I would personally just love them to have put the numbers in the UI layer where they belong instead of the scenery layer. That way the numbers wouldn't disappear when I'm fighting an enemy inside a bush and the camera is outside...

    First priority for damage numbers:
Make them appear at around the same time the damage happens.

This would solve some of the issues with the damage being rolled long after the mob is killed. Some of the problem resides in too much information flowing through the reel as it is.
