Default How to repair greensteel throwers

    1. Take out your thrower.
    2. As you're holding it, have a trap trigger Disjunction on you.
    3. Once Disjunction wears off, it will regain its original durability, and will be fully repaired.
(You may need to wait at a tavern or re-log before it's fully fixed)

Just tried this in the trap in the "Dream Conspiracy", fixed mine up perfectly. The middle platform of Epic ADQ produces the same effect.

Here's a screenshot of the lever that will fix up your thrower (it's in the IQ quest, given by Graden in the manor):

I can't for the life of me recall who provided this information (someone in a General Discussion thread), but thank you to whoever it was! It will help those who have GS returners as novelty weapons...

How long till they fix this "exploit" without fixing the problem making it necassary?

LOL that is bloody fantastic. Something that Turbine has known about for ages and has yet to fix... (thank you for the easter egg hunt and bunny hats btw) but now shows up as an unintended consequence! Absolutely brilliant. Now does turbine get irritated with folks who use this? Is it an exploit? After all, it really isn't as intended...

I assume since they say "Greensteel throwers" are broken due to the not able to repair bug, that the Devs will view this a temp fix for a much older problem. I dont see it as being exploited as these items should not be able to take permanent damage to start with.

Hopefully the powers that be will confirm this is ok to use.

All I can say is that I used it, and my shuriken is back to 100%.

Honestly I can't see this as an exploit, but technically it is. The definition of exploit, taken from wikipedia

An exploit, in video games, is the use of a bug or design flaw by a player to their advantage in a manner not intended by the game's designers.
So yes, this is taking advantage of something not intended by the designers.

All the people who have made greensteel throwers and have had to bank them for months/years because they couldn't be fixed because of reasons beyond the players control can now finally use them again. Perhaps the devs should just make a public disjunction trap and say "that's how they're fixed".

A simple solution to a long overlooked problem.

Nice catch. I remember wondering why my boots got repaired all of a sudden once in Epic DQ.
I thought it had to do with Disjunction, but never bothered to double-check.

Now, the question is whether or not this trick will work in PvP.

Fuggin a! Wish I had known about this before I finally gave up and deleted my throwers for inventory space. They were only tier 2 so not hard to replace, but still. Thanks for the tip. Wish I could confirm though >.<

I don't have a Greensteel thrower to try this with, but the Snowstar suffers from the same problem. I just tested it out and it definitely works! I hope that this doesn't get "fixed" without them fixing out ability to repair at the vendor.

My monk can now fulfill her dream of a GS shuriken raise dead clickie without worrying about repairs!

If the snowstar got fixed, that should mean the chillshard should be fixable as well.

    Awesomesauce!

    glad I could help...

another thing to note: sometimes they don't fix up after Disjunction wears off, and you MAY need to re-log to have it be fully repaired - I edited my original post to reflect this

Does this work if you get someone to cast it on you in PvP? or is it just the traps this works on?

Best place to get disjunctioned is on the main central platform in Epic DQ1. There are floor sparks that roam around and spam AOE disjunction constantly. It doesn't take long for your entire inventory to get broken.
