It sounds like it might be a firewall setting issue. Check this post for troubleshooting connectivity:

    Good luck!

Default error: No internet connectivity detected

    I have the same error,
"No internet connectivity detected. Please reconnect and try again."

I tried to direct connect and bypass my router, also turned off the windows Vista firewall, then i verified a good internet connection was working before trying the program - to no avail, same error occurs.
I do not use any 3rd party firewall or antivirus ie:Norton or McAfee

agree with the previous person, the error message is completely inaccurate & unhelpful to diagnose the problem

    Thumbs down

first time trying this game and I get the exact same problem..

ddostandard.exe and ddohigh.exe gives that error message, with or without windows firewall. no other firewalls.

Now I'm happy I haven't payed anything for this game...

this is clearly a software problem.

my main computer (win7) could not download the game while my netbook (also win7) could run the software and download the setup files to my network. once downloaded I could run the setup files on my main computer..

    sigh.

    Thumbs down resolution

I spent the past 1.5 weeks with Turbine Tech Support. to no avail, they insisted the problem was either the firewall or a previous incorrect installation of "Pando Media Booster" PMO.exe.
Since each time i tried the troubleshooting suggestions from Turbine Techs, I was bypassed the router and turned off Windows firewall, I can be sure it was not firewall\router related. And I only got 1 worm virus out of it that was easily cleaned off, I think i was lucky.
The Pando file never even got installed but the Turbine Techs were constantly looking for it saying it had to be allowed - how do you allow a file that doesnt exist? (ran a file search across the whole computer takes forever with 1TB). And whats to allow if the firewalls are all down?
Simply put, the installation never gets that far to the Pando stuff, from what I can see in the Installation FAQ the install of Pando happens after the ddostandard.exe or ddohigh.exe successfully runs.
But the Turbine Techs just would understand that, even though I gave them that exact wording during troubleshooting.

    Summary:
If you get this error: "No internet connectivity detected. Please reconnect and try again."
Then just try another computer or give up - there is obviously an unresolved glitch in their program that affects a small percentage of users.

    Exclamation

    That is exactly the thing.
it is entirely a software problem, with their own downloader.

I have never tried this game before, I downloaded the ddohigh.exe file and clicked on it. PAM! a little white box with the message "No internet connectivity detected. Please reconnect and try again." pops up and no matter what I did, added windows firewall rule, turned off firewall, all sorts of compatibility modes and it never worked.

But here's the funny thing, my netbook can run the downloader without problems. the same exe I downloaded, on two copies of Windows 7 Ultimate. one machine can run it, the other can not..

Once I had the installation files I could run it on my main computer and install the game, and I have been playing without problems.

So, I guess you are right in the summary Karlyguy but let me rephrase it for you.

    SUMMARY:
if you have this problem and only one computer.. you're screewed!

Have you named your internet connection, have multipule connections? I've read threads where this was the issue.

Turbine wants to use the "default" connection instead of the active one. So change to the default connection, (or re assign the default) and attempt it again. (may require a reboot. I don't know.) It was something along these lines. At least you have a clue what to search for to get the actual details incase I was off my rocker. (been up 24 hours now. *sigh*)

I was having the same issue on a new computer with the installer i downloaded today. I tried all firewall settings and nothing fixed the issue so i changed back to my normal setup and copied the old ddohigh.exe from my old computer (from 9-13-2009) and ran it... it connected and i am downloading all of the files as we speak. to me, this says there is something wrong with the new installer and not people's firewalls. someone at support should look into this.

so i went and checked pando website TURNS out is a problem with pando causing this " no connection " issue, happening on a few other games as well... so untill they find a fix may well be no solution for us, check pando forums a few posts about it.

I've got the same problem trying to download the hi-res client. I downloaded the lo-res client with the Pando #### downloader and it worked.

It's NOT a firewall issue. It's not a Windows issue. Again, I didn't have any issues downloading the regular client. I turned off the firewall and there's no difference.

Post a direct link to the client or a torrent with a hosted seed. Critical path third party commercial software required to install your client, but having it fail with an obviously erroneous error message, is terribad. Time to start looking for another vendor.

    Default Same Issue

I had the same issue. Turns out it was a DNS issue. I can't figure out why, but when I statically assigned an alternate DNS server it went away.

The downloader is buggy, and I spent forever with every other iteration of "pando" software working awesome but DDO refused. Even the preview server client works but this public release one refuses too.

I'm replying to every post I had googled that didn't help me at all (there's a lot of threads with no fix) to say download from a third party like fileplanet. http://www.fileplanet.com/202160/200...limited-Client

Yep, I also discovered that fileplanet link, and downloading it that way worked. The installer available via ddo.com is just screwy.
