    Question Autocrit question

Just yesterday I noticed something that kinda winded me up at first and then I started thinking about it and now I need your help. When stuff is in an autocrit situation (like being held) it seems that the crit multiplier taken for it is the one without my FBIII enhancements, which in my case means x3. When I saw those low crits I first checked that I am indeed raged and in DF, and I was. So no error there. Then I figured the thing is bugged with autocrits. But I think there's more to that, and need your confirmation on this.

Could it be that since the autocrit hits aren't a roll of 19-20 that they only get the base multiplier, and would get the full x6 if I was to roll a 19-20 ? I don't remember seeing the high crits on an autocrit but it might be I just didn't have time to roll one.

Sorry if this has been mentioned somewhere, as I haven't noticed it in my readings.

I'm not entirely sure I understand what you're asking, but I'm gonna go ahead and try to answer it anyway.
Autocrit doesn't mean you auto-roll 19 or 20, or whatever your weapon crits on. It just means, afaik, that you get x3 on whatever roll you make.
Hope that was what you asked, if not, flip me the bird

you only get the FB bonus on a 19-20 and as long you roll anything else even though its crits, it doesnt apply

    x3 on 2-18
    x6 on 19-20

You should notice this often if you used stunning blow.. Which you should eventually.

ah, so my assumptions were correct. Still toughness focused so no stunning blow yet, haven't had much chance to encounter this before.

    Thanks for clearing that up

I wonder why it is that they did this to you barbarians but not to paladins with their divine sacrifice and exhaulted smite abilities. I know that when I see something held/stunned it is a signal to me to run in and smite it ASAP for a very quick and nice double crit exhaulted smite which more often than not drops the mob or very nearly drops it.

They can make airships, towers floating in the air, but they never think of adding handrails in places like this (Exert from a Hound run from one of our party members)

because barbs get it all the time and paladins are limited in uses
