Default I am not Epic ready.

I am a good player. My death rate in quests is low, almost nonexistent these days. I remember when I hit lvl10 and I thought I knew what was needed for elite lvl20 quests and then I hit lvl20 and my opinions on what I needed changed again. So here I am sitting with a lvl20 sorcerer thinking what the hell am I going to do for Epic quests? Should I just reincarnate and say screw it? Because from what I read it doesn't sound like as a caster that I am going to be good for more than a haste bot in epic lvl quests. Direct dmg being to low to be effective, monster saves to high for CC. And no I don't want to be a buff machine, if I wanted that I'd of made a bard.

So I ask you wise ones what am I to do so that my lvl20 sorc is Epic ready. What have you done? And do you consider yourself epic ready?

work on your saves and HP so you are not a liability.
Casters are still integral in epic, just not to the point where a caster heavy party is more effective than a single caster in a balanced party.
Play to your strengths, but I suggest specialising in buffs, crowd control and debuffing.

The main points to remember is to focus on attacks that wont be wasted on an epic foe's huge hp pool, and to use abilities that have no saves, or ones that will be effective, especially of note is Irresistable Dance, probably the most important CC spell for epic casters.

+1 rep simply because there are so many people who cannot come to this conclusion, its hard to find newer players who have the presence of mind to find ways to make their toons epic-ready, I know a few casters who used to solo epic quests on a fairly regular basis, so if you get the right gear you can be quite effective

work on your HPs, rely a bit more on cc spells (stuff like fogs and waves of exhaustion works well), work on gears ... its not that bad for a caster to solo some of those epics ... wiz king can easily be solo by a caster up to wiz king, von1 a caster can solo relatively easily...
