well i downloaded the game. when to join the server my friends are on. an i attempt 20 times an timed out error. i added the 2 things to my firewall allowed cookies. anyone have any ideas please post. It's driving me nuts nobody else has had these problems out of my friends at least.

I had the same problem. There is a bug in the Download Manager or its not downloading everything you need to play the game. When you go to select a world it justs sits on "Connecting to <insert world here>"
From anther thread started on the issue:
Uninstall the Turbine Download Manager and Pando Media Booster from the Control Panel. I uninstalled both, but I wonder if you really only need to uninstall the Download Manager only....
Launch DDO and it will patch itself and the problem is gone! Seems Turbine has a bug they have yet to acknowledge in the Download Manager.
I don't see how anyone can get the Download Manager to patch anything when it does not even know something is missing. It said everything was up to date.
