Hi all-I was wondering if there was room in the group for one more player. I'm new to DDO and I like the concept of leveling/playing a character with a static group of people only. I've got a Wizard (Ingenious Sage template) that I've leveled to 3 (or is everyone level 4 now?). If a Wizard doesn't work, I can level up any other class that is needed (off-tank maybe? second healer?) in time for Friday's session. Let me know...thanks!

To Baba: Not sure if we have open slot or not. I'll let our leader answer that one. We are at level 4 though but, if we have slot, level 3 is fine.

To Group: Hey guys, busy leveling Seedryll and we are doing good. When we get to the quest for the eye (where you have to NOT kill the prophets) we will need help from the group if you can do that. (Especially from our awesome rogue, Tox)

    Thanks!

Baba, there is an open slot and you're welcome to join us with your wizard. Please send one of us a /tell next Friday evening or just post your character's name here.

Firrik is still level 3, so our group's official level range is 2-4.

Sorry to have missed the group last Friday. Work had me doing 16 hour days for a few due to a shift supervisor ending up in the hospital and two others being on vacation. Things should have settled down by this Friday and I'll be able to be on.

Looking forward to tonight. Let's consider starting waterworks on elite unless you guys want to do the Cerulean Hills quests first?

Default Open slots in party for new players

If any new (or low level) players are interested in joining this Friday night (EST) group, please let us know and we can work out the details.

    1. No use of Rez shrines (though Rest shrines are fine). If a party member dies: a) that member can be rezzed by another party member and the mission continues OR b) that party member releases their spirit to be rezzed by the tavern priest and the party leaves the instance to be reset for another try.
    2. The group remains static, so each party member plays that particular character only with other members from the group. Also, no solo play.
    3. No twinking. Party members can share loot as they see fit. The vendors/brokers/AH are all fine.

I'd love to get in on this if you have spots. I'm an old school D&D'er and would like to find a group that plays a bit in the PnP style...slow, patient, cautious, taking time to explore. I'd also like to get the mic chat working. I'd be a little too shy/rushed to fool around with it in pick up groups.

Couple questions though....how late do you guys usually go? I could handle 10PM -> 1AM but 3AM is a bit out. And I'm assuming you're all out of Karthos already (in only 4 sessions???). I only started playing a week ago and am still on snowy side with a fighter, but Misery Peak is all I have left.

What type of character do you need? If a fighter's no good, I can get another started.

Welcome! Sounds like a good match. We usually go up to 1am or maybe a little later if a quest is close to being done, but never anything close to 3am. I can help you complete Misery Peak and some of the Harbor quests too during the week in order to "catchup" (up to you).

What kind of fighter do you have? I usually run in this group with a solid tank, but if your fighter is also a tank then I can pull out my sorcerer alt. Just let me know.

    Welcome again!

Sounds great. I'll try to get a character, either my current or a new one, prepped for Friday coming up.
Current char is a dwarven tank 2nd level. I'm going to try and solo Misery Peak this afternoon - I've been getting most of the quests done on the first try thus far. I'd love to play a MU or thief as well for this group though, since they're harder to solo, so I'll see what I can up with. Is 2nd level good enough? I doubt I'd have time to get a new guy to 3rd in time.

Question - can I move guys between servers? I've been playing on Thelanis so far. I've been reading messages in here than seem to indicate that characters are server bound. Is that a limitation they used to have but not any more?

2nd level is fine, but we are playing on Sarlona so you'd need to start a new character or request a transfer (which costs $25 and takes 1-2 weeks...) http://www.ddo.com/component/content...r-transfer-faq

Alternatively, if you're interested in a Saturday night game, I (and maybe some others here) could create an alt on Thelanis? (EDIT: as it turns out, I have a sorc-3 on Thelanis...)

Interesting. Thanks for the link. I'll try to get a M-U to 2nd on Sarlona for Friday.
Whoops. I goofed. Just checked and I've been playing on Ghallanda up 'til now.

Just to add...would definitely be interested in a Sat. game, works better than Friday for me personally.
Just won my first solo run at Misery's Peak. What a rush! Such a fun adventure. Never had two and a half hours fly by so quickly.

    Hi Kerik,

I've got a 2 lvl M-U on Sarlona (solo'ed Misery's Peak this afternoon to get off Korthos) in case you're running tonight and need a wizard. My in-game character is scag and I'll probably be wandering around getting my bearings in the Marketplace.

So...we have a very active and fun group for 4-5 weeks and then, all of a sudden, nobody shows 2 weeks in a row? And no messages at all? Lame.

    Hi Kerik,

If you're playing tomorrow @9-10 and want to try and group up, look for Scag and toss me a message.

Sorry about last week...I had just graduated from Korthos to Stormwatch (for the first time) and was a little shocked at how bad my lag was in the Harbor; I was afraid I'd have to stop playing altogether since I'm on an older machine. I didn't log on because I wasn't confident yet of being able to do any quests post-Korthos.

Turns out the lag is only really bad for me in the public areas - I'm OK in the adventure areas.
Anyways I've got a Lvl 3 Wizard on Sarlona hoping to group up with other players who don't mind taking it a bit slow.

Default Once more into the breach

    Do you despise zerging?
Are you bored when your group insists on running quests multiple times (normal, then hard, then elite)?
Is it annoying when a party member breaks every single barrel and won't leave the dungeon until every irrelevant secret door has been found?
Do you care not at all about slayer quests?

If you answered "yes" to the above, you're probably looking for the same thing as me.

    ----------

Type: This is SLOW PLAY group. Its purpose is not to level as fast as possible, nor is it to get the best loot as fast as possible. I'm open to light role-play, if the group wishes it.

Timeframe: Friday or Saturday nights (9pm to midnight ET, some wiggle available)
Content: Free stuff for the most part.
    Age: 18+
Server: not sure at this point, whatever is best for the group.

    Rules
    1. No Rez shrines - if a party member dies then the party leaves the instance to be reset for another try. I've found this a good compromise to permadeath.
    2. The group remains static, so each party member plays that particular toon only with other members from the group. No solo play.
    3. No twinking whatsoever (no hand-me-downs!) Party members share loot as makes sense. The vendors and brokers are fine, but not the AH.
    4. We'll run dungeons on the highest setting available - once and only once.
    5. If you miss a session, no big deal - the XP difference won't be a problem. But please send me a PM or post here so we know (consideration is key).

Mics preferred but optional (unless you want to scout, in which case you really need a good mic).
    Run whatever concept you like.
