I thwart myDDO

I've seen and heard a lot of griping about myDDO. I'm not here to do that. I'm here to give a new perspective on that oh-so-maligned resource.

My main character loves her leprechaun pimp hat, some of her gear is UMD required so if I remember, I put my cartouche on after I'm done questing, and I prefer the look of a particular robe that I once looted on a level 4 monk. In other words, Uamhas wears "around town" outfits before she goes to bed, so the next time you myDDO her, you may find that she's rather spectacularly equipped with "fail" items. Have fun!

edit: forgot about my pew stick, too. Looks too much like a pimp-stick to resist with that hat!

Best thing to do is to start a new character, delete him, than start another character with the same name. Anyone who looks you up on MyDDO will only find the deleted character with their starting gear.

There's nothing wrong with the OPs idea if you don't want anyone to see your gear. However, when I see someone with no decent gear at level 20, they get declined for difficult content unless I know them.

The Risia upgrades do overwrite weapon elements in myDDO...

Vorpals, metaline and superior potency show up as an icy type upgrade if you look at them in MyDDO for instance...

So my Dwarf Ranger is apparently dual wielding Icybursts of Pure good whereas they are metaline as well...

Oh and clicking on the weapon in MyDDO will *NOT* show the metaline...

Turbine (perhaps deliberately) has self-nerfed the functionality of this...

my personal entertainment when i'm bored is to take my halfling dex/wis monk and cheat his hp up to 700+ before logging out to confuse people (double madstone, rage, earth stance, yugo pots, collectible pots, etc).

my goal is to break 750 or 800 before i TR so i can call barbs who make fun of monk hp silly :3

I do the same. Some of my lower level items just look great. So if I am not out adventuring the heavy gear goes away. I can't show up at the Inn unless I am looking good.

I just decide what name I want and create a drow FvS with a 10 Con with that name.
Then I delete it.
Then I make the toon I want with the same name.
myDDO bugs out and shows the level 1 10 con Drow instead of me.

Ha! I know how you feel. I was being made fun of in the start of a raid a few weeks ago. Then I realized I was wearing my RP gear.

Same here. Always switch into RP gear before logging. However, I have once seen the flipside of this.....Guild meeting always require that those capable of wearing ( see, CAPABLE not best for their character..especially mine, as I'm a DEX based Fighter) Fullplate to do so....in Fullplate I have worse AC than in a Chainshirt, but got blind invited to a Kobolds Assault based SOLEY on the fact I was wearing fullplate mail...*sigh*

I only run epic with people that can do it naked and unarmed.
